Work and Life by InfiniteSoftCoal

Alright, first Ludum Dare, and it could have gone better or worse.

The first problem was how much I didn't work on the game. I had all these ideas that I couldn't do because of how little I had time to work on the game.

The second was porting. I tried, but JSIL and SilverSprite did not like my VS 2013 setup. Next time, hopefully by the next one I can get it working.

What went right:

The planning stage. I had spent 30 minutes on planning until it hit me that the best idea I had were the connected worlds of the work life, and the life life.

The coding. It was all pretty straight forward. No fancy stuff, nothing that would overexert me. Also, it was really fun.

Talking with friends. Throughout the process I talked with a few friends that let me complete some of the homestretches needed when programming an application (especially when I tried porting the thing).

Conclusion:
I'm just going to use Unity next time so I don't have to deal with the freaking porting. Hopefully next time I can make a fantastic game that isn't essentially press buttons to win game. I'm not expecting the big votes, because honestly it isn't a good "game" but any way about it, it was fun.

To Install:
Extract to folder of choice, run "Work and Life.exe" and if Windows warns about protection, I assure you, there are no viruses.

Theme Explanation:
The game is about the two different but connected worlds of work and life. How they affect the other and how stability in one leads to stability in the other.

Errors:
THIS GAME WAS RUSHED AND I DID NOT REALIZE THERE WAS NO WIN STATE AND THAT FIXING IT WOULD MEAN REWRITING A LOT OF CODE AND I'M LAZY
I think the only typo is the end of the day thing where I said that family and Sleepiness (which should've been Awakeness) were doubled when it's tripled.

Intresting concept, i died of dehydration while writting this haha, the only thing is that you seem to loose work attributes quite quickly? Nice idea though!

I think you got a good point across about balancing life and work.

"if Windows warns about protection, I assure you, there are no viruses." - I don't know why but I had to laugh at that sentence :D.

I think the game might've worked better as a turn-based game.

Not sure if this was intentional humour but doing anything other than working seems to plunge you straight into -work.
Interesting concept but could've done with more visuals
