Connected buddies by Scarounet
My first Ludum Dare and I've got something to submit, YAY ! Let me introduce you : Connected buddies.
The game is about two buddies who are blocked and they have to work hand in hand to reach the exit area. But they can only interact with their own world.
I've created the game with PhaserJs which is a really awesome JS game engine.
All art has been created with Gimp. The music has been generated on abudant-music.com and the sfx on bfxr.net.
In my head there were pressure plates, interruptores, etc. But like many other beginners I was thinking too big for a 48h gamejam, and there were too many things which I didn't think about during the warmup. (Like working with multiple layers in Tiled, so all my objects (doors and levers) didn't have to be placed in code).
Anyway I learnt a lot and I had fun workig with Phaser. Good job everyone, and see you at the next Ludum Dare !
P.S : I didn't test my game online and didn't think about the time of preloading. So if you have a black screen at first it's ok, music and art are loading... I will fix this as soon as possible.

The idea is classic but efficient, but it's more like a proof of concept, but i really like the look of the game (pixel art and greyscale), the size of your game is really nice and give him a great look.
Actually i was hoping more puzzle/level.
But like you i was also beat by the level design, make the game OK but we have to make levels also (i start 1 hour before the end ;) )
I really think that you could make some level and release the game.
N.B.: i think that the text "Enter E", etc... should in pixel art style like the start menu for the look of the game.
Unfortunately I've wasted too much time finding an idea that can be done in 48h, so didn't get time to do more level. And the structure of my game is quite bad I think so it didn't help.
With some work I'll be really ready for the next Ludum Dare ! \o/
I think it's not just beginners who think too big for, everybody has this problem :)
Interesting concept you had going. I'd like to see more. I think you've got an eye for minimalist style. Perhaps next time, really expand on that!
Really liked the music, btw.
Good work, man.
