Cerise Music Ride by chrisdugne

[raw]
made by chrisdugne for LD36 (JAM)
I've been telling my daughter for months I would create a game with her drawing, and never could take time to do it.

For my first LD participation I saw it a perfect time to prototype something.
And Leo joined me for the music and sounds.

Here we are, 20mn before the Jam's end, actually posting our musical game..
Help the sorcess grab the keys within the rythm to discover the entire music !

Great game, man. Becomes a little repetitive after a while, but over all a rly digg the vibe with the music and the colors, if i could change anything, it would be the explotion animations, kinda dont go with the theme of the rest of the game :( but none the less great game!

I really liked the artstyle (maybe except the explosions:0, they don't really fit there) and thought it's supposed to look like a kid did it. Now, that I read the description, I find it so hearthwarming x3. It gets kinda challanging at level 9! :) The music is awesome and there were no lags on my Lenovo S60. Except, maybe, the text at the end was a bit hard to read:0. But I'd definitely like more levels:3.

Fun to play, relaxing and really hearthwarming c:

I try your game on my Android Samsung mini Galaxy s4 and no lag to declare. You can say to your daughter that her drawings are awesome ! :D The music fits very well with the ambiance and the drawings. The gameplay is simple and works well. (maybe reduce a little the collider of the character ?) I reached level 7 on my first try, so the difficulty curve is good (but the speed of notes speed up very fast on one level I found). Great job to the team ! And well done to this awesome father ;) Keep creating games !

I love the artstyle :)
And the music makes a great atmosphere, especially when more and more layers of music are added. 5/5 mood
The gameplay isn't that exciting, but for me the art & music make up for it.
An amazing addition would be animations, maybe just an unhappy and a happy version of the character as player feedback (I don't know if your daughter would want to do that ;) )

What a lovely game! Graphics are cute and music is great! Mechanics are simple enough but with a nice difficulty curve, getting difficult from level 9, I'm stuck at level 13 >.< Gonna try to beat it again later!
Some issues: Sometimes the soundeffect when getting a musical note is too low and I can't hear it. Some other times the bgm would suddenly stop, and maybe resumed when changing/restarting a level, and only one time the level actually didn't restart after I failed, and I had to close the app manually.

Anyway, great job!

It looks like a good game and a good idea to use your daughters drawings in order to make the game. it looks really fun tho I would have loved to play it on PC rather than on my phone, but still really lovely idea well done.
