HEAL by Stepwise

HEAL is puzzle-platformer where you must choose whether to brave obstacles as a GHOST or as a KNIGHT - and find ways to move between the two forms.

What form will you take on to progress? Are your typical dungeon hazards there to hinder your exploits, or will you use them to overcome greater challenges that lie beyond?

Thanks for the heads up JannesN. Tested with Firefox and Chrome, they both worked. Will look for workarounds in the meantime.

Best sound effects ever!!!!! Heal sound effect should be used for everything!

Always a fan of pixel art, great flow to the animations and really accessible art style. Great work!

Nice art, nice sound. Shame the game is so short ,you should had made at least a couple more of levels so we could see where the concept would take us.

Also, the delay while shooting as a ghost was really annoying :)

Crazy good pixel art, the animation is great on that sword swing as well as the priest. Maybe even too good because the environment art was lacking in comparison, but it is an LD after all. Gameplay was unexpected and interesting, I would have played more if I could have.

Not bad, game goes pretty buggy when I turn into ghost though. You could keep working and improving this to a full game.

Particles are not being very friendly to the engine - harsh framerate drops whenever things explode.

Only one stage, but it made good use of the "skillset switch" mechanic. That's always fun.

This is a bad influence on children . . . it teaches them that falling on spikes will turn you into a mermaid. If you're not careful, you could be sued.

Great stuff Julian! While short, the experience is fun and the mechanic is solid. What I'd really like to see though is a world filled with your characters; you've managed to pack a lot of personality into a few small sprite sheets. I haven't been so enamoured with pixel art since Cave Story.

Loved the pixel graphics, and the platforming/controls felt good.

The way you implemented the "second world" was cool and surprising, and how the mechanic had to be used to ultimately get to the end of the level.

Make more levels :)

The sprite are amazing, and the main idea is really interesting, that"s a conditionnal switch but as you made it make this a little bit more fun.
Actually that a great level as a proff of concept, but with more couple it could be cool.
Control are a little bit slow to reacte but that's not a drama.
Actually it's just sad for the level who could be nice looking with a simple tile sprite even a small 8x8.
But that's a cool idea, and you make us hungry.
More levels pleeaaaasse! ;)

Nice concept. I like the idea of the connection of two worlds meaning you can go from life to death and vice versa. Too bad it was so short.

Good game it could be much better with proper level design. one question Why ghost characters attack has a delay ? and why ghost is so slow?? its movement speed is like zombies!!
