Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge.We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free) \r<br\/>So we can include also your game in the video ;) \r<br\/>p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description. (you can already find several games from the jam there)"},{"author_name":"TheFlyingSatan","author_uid":"111418","time":"Aug 30, 2016 @ 4:19pm","epoch":1472573640,"text":"Very nice looking game - a fun, challenging (if you're a wheel, that is) experience. A bit frustrating at times, but generally a good experience. Nice music too, an all-around very polished game."},{"author_name":"PhoenixOne","author_uid":"113769","time":"Aug 31, 2016 @ 11:00am","epoch":1472640900,"text":"Very good game ! Mechanics are simple but well thought, graphics are wonderful and go well with the music in order to create a nice atmosphere. The strange noise when you fail is a bit disturbing though.\r<br\/>The idea is clever, fun and well linked to the video\r<br\/>Keep up the good work !"},{"author_name":"kyyninen","author_uid":"21389","time":"Aug 31, 2016 @ 5:46pm","epoch":1472665260,"text":"Visually impressive, to say the least! Unbelievably detailed environment given the time-limit. Great job with that and audio!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>I get that the wheel section was supposed to be nearly impossible to complete, but spinning by mashing felt very finicky. Almost like it didn't work half the time. Might be that I just suck at button mash."},{"author_name":"minnouu","author_uid":"52028","time":"Sep 1, 2016 @ 10:06am","epoch":1472724060,"text":"Very detailed graphics, a lot more than I'd normally expect from a short game jam like this.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Is the large bin after the stairs the end?  Not sure if there's more to it."},{"author_name":"ZBLAH","author_uid":"111117","time":"Sep 3, 2016 @ 5:16pm","epoch":1472922660,"text":"Hi ! Thanks for your feedbacks !\r<br\/>Don't forget that we were 6 to do it, it explains why it's so polished. :)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>@kyyninen the wheel has a low friction with the ground, that's why it appears not working : if you have a certain velocity, push one time the button to go at the opposite direction will not really work. the wheel will just slide. But we get that it could be frustrating !\r<br\/>\r<br\/>@minnouu The large bin after the stairs is not the end ! You must fall between the bin and the stairs to finish the level. we are totally aware about this lack of signs, but we ran out of time :)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Thank again, and please, forgive my poor english !"}],"images":["ld36\/111117-807317f201717673f44b2be560164d84.jpg","ld36\/111117-397ff2b2315540018f2b114d3022d91a.jpg","ld36\/111117-d33cb7aff65b6030a0da20a933f66046.jpg","ld36\/111117-f228ec7081688e29e953393a35857b2d.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/zblah.itch.io\/why-ducks-never-got-wheels","text":"Windows"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"1553","g_author":"111117","g_event":"LD36","g_eventkey":"35","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"1511","g_title":"Why Ducks Never Got Wheels","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"6","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/111117-shot0-1472647137.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/111117-shot1-1472513005.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/111117-shot2-1472513005.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/111117-shot3-1472513005.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Why Ducks Never Got Wheels.\r\n\r\nHumans invented the wheel a long time ago, and it's still used everywhere today.\r\n\r\nBesides, this technology is not so convenient : it requires flat ground to move without using too much energy. Ironically, building flat grounds requires a lot of ressources.\r\n\r\nBy playing this game, you can experiment this fact in a world which is not made for a wheel. Be a duck, with legs and wings, and you'll see that it's much more easy to get to the end !\r\n\r\n--------------------\r\n\r\nSources :\r\n\r\nhttps:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rotating_locomotion_in_living_systems\r\n\r\nDirtyBiology : https:\/\/youtu.be\/LUWkaZkosY0 (don't forget the english subtitles ;) )\r\n\r\nhttp:\/\/www.geosociety.org\/gsatoday\/archive\/22\/12\/article\/i1052-5173-22-12-4.htm\r\n\r\nDeveloped by TeamZBLAH with 6 persons.\r\n\r\nThanks for playing.","title":"Why Ducks Never Got Wheels"}
