Push Of The Ancients by HeyChinaski

[raw]
made by HeyChinaski for LD36 (JAM)
Inspired by Stonehenge, a game featuring the ancient technology of pushing huge slabs of rock on hastily hewn logs.

Use WASD or the arrow keys to move our ancient hero and SPACEBAR to cut down trees.

Cute game, and it really fits the theme. :)

The controls are a bit wonky at times, but that's a minor problem.

I also found the levels to be a bit to easy (the tree position really spoils the goal), but it's fun overall.

It's hard to do original puzzle platformers, specially in a narrow theme like this one. Great game design here...

Really cool game. It's a good concept and the execution delivers. I think there's a lot of potential to expand this. The art style is pretty cute too. Great job!

Very original and awesome use of theme! Nothing really to complain about. It's basically the perfect jam game.

I actually had this exact idea too but decided to go with something else at the end. I like it a lot, and fits the theme very well:

I like the idea, but it was a bit finnicky to guess if something is on the logs or not. A grid-based world might have been easier to read.

It's really a good idea. Simple but fun enough.
I was wondering how to develop it into a game when I saw your idea post. And now I got the answer.
It would be better with some sound effect and music.
Overall, well done!
