Glitch Adventure by unnamed1334

[raw]
made by unnamed1334 for LD31 (COMPO)
A simple game where you walk from room to room looking for upgrades. The entire game takes place on a single computer screen and some of the rooms let you leave the game and jump to other worlds.

w/a/s/d or the arrow keys to move.
Space to attack. (There is no animation)

Open levels/files and close the game by attacking the icon/x button.

If stuck on an empty desktop try attacking everything.

There are four orbs that can be used at the top of the forest level to gain access to a extra area.

I took a different twist on the theme. I made a game base on the entire game taking place on one computer screen. This resulted in the mechanic of leaving the game field to manipulate the game in unintended ways such as closing the game and loading different worlds while maintaining position.

Interesting take on the theme. Some glitches (I keep my green torchlight even though my body disappears when I die) but otherwise I liked it :)

It took me a little bit of time to figure out what to do here, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Seems like an ambitious game for 48 hours! A great idea though, and I'll play it more later. Wish the attack animation was in there.

Very cool idea! Unfortunately there's not much feedback on the actions you do, and it seems like collected orbs respawn, while I am not sure what I'm supposed to do in the top of the forest level in order to use the orbs (I think I got 4 of them, but nothing happens). Would be happy to give the game another whirl if this is answered :)

InIt's a shame there's nothing to show you are attacking, as I didn't think it was working at first. It's a fun game, and fits the theme nicely too.

Anyway, cool!

Takes a while to understand how exactly the game is played. Great idea for the game, but could use some additional polish (which is expected in a game made in 48 hours.) It would be really nice to have feedback on attacking.

Ambitious game for such a short period, would like to see it when graphics and sound is added. Also a minor request for faster player speed, hard to dodge enemy random movements on the fly) Keep working at it for sure!

I got 4 orbs! But the fifth didn't unlock... is it because of the glitch? Well, interesting game and it shocks me once you got outside! >w<

Interesting concept, but there's not a whole lot in terms of gameplay. It'd be interesting to see what you'd do with a bit more time for the gameplay itself.

Very interesting idea of leaving the play area and adventuring beyond the game's levels. Good use of the theme, well done!

Concept is quite interesting, however it's very hard to understand what's happening inside the game. For instance, when I got to desktop and started to click on folder content, I'm just getting teleported back ;/

Interesting idea ! I like it, this is juste a little confusing. I'm really lost, and after a certain time this become anoying. But the idea is stille so great ! Maybe you could make the same concept, but more... Friendly-user ?

I couldn't figure out what to do. It was cool finding the secret area though.

Pretty bare bones gameplay, but likeable. When the style is wuite simple then even the tiniest details and flaws receive much huger attention. This somehow reminded me a bit of oldschool Zelda, which is good :)

While it may technically be one playfield, like I have grade others, the perception for myself at least, if you scroll it is indistinguishable from room transitions from the feel to the player. That was why I gave it a low score for theme. I enjoyed the game though.
