Inside a mysterious room with no door, you seek a way to get out. A set of polaroid photos on the wall hint at the story of this room's past. With only an old polaroid camera in hand, you must solve the puzzle of each photo to escape.

The Polaroid is a puzzle game that connects the past and present through a supernatural take on the polaroid-within-a-polaroid fad.

Controls:
WASD - Move
Mouse - Look around and interact with surroundings
1 - Show polaroid photo
2 - Use polaroid camera

Play at your own pace and enjoy the game. We'd appreciate any feedback you have.

Interesting game, it reminds me Life is Strange a bit. Beautifull graphic, one of the best of 3D this LD36. I took only one photo, the next one didn't fit. I was trying so hard to go further, but I got angry. i'm unpacient xD

Maybe I really suck at puzzle game, but I really have no idea how to match the photo with the scene at the first photo.

You have to hold the photo up and take the picture, like in the example photo. If you fail, there are clues in the scene to help you out.

How can I put the box on the bed? It always falls down on the border...

@dissonent, Yeah, I tried, but I cannot find the box in the photo. And I've tried many times to match it like in the example photo.

Could you make a gif showing how to do that?

A very unique, relaxed and fun game. The music and graphics is great and fits the game very well. I would have liked some more story, but can perhaps com in a letter version. Congratulations on making a super great game.

@tmpxyz : what @JK5000 said is right. Objects you do need for the photo will show up in white silhouettes if you placed them wrong. Objects you don't particularly need for the photo won't have a silhouette when you take the photo. Sometimes, objects you think you need, may appear after the photo.

I am sorry, this last post was meant for another game, I just played yours.

The atmosphere is nice, but I personally find the idea a little boring. But the game is very well executed and the music is nice, too.

Cute, well done! Interesting interpretation of the theme! I found it too easy that the objects appeared in ghost form when placed wrong. Mouse movement was way too fast, walking speed too slow. The game didn't keep me interested for very long.

Difficult, but very nice artistically, and the music fit very well. I particularly like the work put into small details, like the items in the shelf. A job well done!

i really enjoyed this! the atmosphere was very chill, and the puzzle elements took a second to grasp, but then there was that bit of an "aha!" moment where all the pieces came together. it had a beautiful visual style, and came off as very stylish and polished. awesome job!

This was a neat game!

I loved the atmosphere - that nostalgic-like feeling coupled with that soothing music was a nice touch.

I didn't understand what to do at the beginning, lol. I thought I just had to take a photo that looked close to the one I'm holding, which didn't do anything, until I held up the photo matching part of the scene and then snapping. The third photo confused me a bit, because of the placement of the window.

Great game though!

I really enjoyed this game! Great idea, nice graphics and music, I actually like that you get hints when you get it wrong, and the help isn't there forever x)

Both Matt and myself individually selected this one for me to play which was a good start in itself. Visually gorgeous, calming music, and a really interesting mechanic.

As I said in stream (which you can watch here: https://www.twitch.tv/cantgetourname/v/88815811 ) once I realized stuff was appearing, I started to get a little... freaked out in a way. It would make a brilliant psychological horror game.
