Very difficult game though, I was quickly swarmed by more enemies than I could count. Powerups would be a welcome addition I think!

I like this variation of a "robotron" game where you have independent control of character and direction of shooting. The game left me wanting more.. but hey this is ludum dare!

@jmborden I didn't know "Robotron" and it seems that I had the same feeling than the people who creates this game... great : )

I would like to test it but I couldn't get it to work on OS/X.

The game's window open, but only a quarter of the screen is drawn and the game doesn't seems to take respond to my input (except for the initial R).

Pretty cool shooter, it could use more variety but probably outside the scope of 11 hours :P. I liked the health system - very neat way of showing current hit points.

interesting game concept. try changing the blinking shadow it was a bit eye hurting when playing in the dark. Overall sweet entry! keep up the good work.

I was a little confused by the + signs being enemies. I initially went after them for health until I realized they were the death of me lol. Besides that, it was challenging having the cursor be at the center of the screen and angle my shots right. But that was what added to the challenge of it.

Maybe add some sounds and make it more obvious what heals you and what hurts you and I think you'll be golden.

Great concept! The way you aim your shots makes you think differently when trying to dodge enemies ( which was pretty tough. ) I like the simplistic graphical style and the shadows on the enemies made everything just pop. It was a bit weird that you chose to use + as an enemy, cause for some reason I assumed those were health, instead of the blue rectangles. Great job!

That was fun. I like the health meter too. It would be nice to save your score and show it on the "R" screen, as it's a bit too hectic to look up during the game.

It was lacking audio, but graphically a very nice style. It's biggest flaw was that you can't really choose which direction you're shooting - it's just done automatically. Maybe move movement to WASD/arrow keys and use the mouse for aiming?

Seems like there is a problem with the OS/X version where only a quarter of the screen is shown and you have to press R with the mouse in that space to work. I liked the gameplay and smooth animations though. Shooting through a central reticle was interesting.

The three enemy types provide a nice tension in how the player needs to respond. To make for a more gentle difficulty ramp, consider fewer shooter enemies firing less often and crank that up as the game goes on. One word of warning; it took me a long time to realize that the blue rectangles were health power ups rather than mines to be avoided. Turning them green might help with that.

I actually wish this was in full screen, because I needed to skirt the ends of the screen a lot, but it was too easy for the mouse to move off screen.
