Snowman Survival by CoderDozer
This is a web based survival game that takes place in the confines of the screen area.
The player must avoid the evil snow peoples attempts to hit our hero with snowballs that may look a bit more yellow than I comfortable with for a snowball which causes health loss.
The player uses A and D to turn and W to move forward. They can fire an arrow at the snow persons by pressing the space bar.
The player can regain health by foraging through trees by simply moving close to a tree containing fruit. This also adds wood to the inventory. They can also collect stone which can be used to craft more arrows (1 W + 2 S = 1 A).
Arrow pick ups are also available so watch out for those.
Lots of stuff I would like to improve on here, probably including removing the automatic item chop/mine/collection which causes the player to be stuck in place until the operation completes. I would replace with a manual operation but with time constraints I'm prepared to leave as is and work on after the compo as a personal project. Also content regeneration would be nice.
Thanks for viewing, would appreciate the vote and/or comment and will do best to return the favor.

Died after a minute!
Recollecting takes so long and gives you so less :)
Funny.
The crafting mechanic was pretty neat, and the music was half decent, so good job on that. I wasn't keen on the aesthetic, but top-down is pretty hard to do right.
Extra points for including the Snowman (another theme candidate for this LD) into your game :D Everybody loves snowmen right? :)
* A win condition would be nice.
* Using mouse to steer instead of A and D would be nice.
* The crafting did not seem to work -- even with 3 stone and 3 wood, no more arrows appeared in my inventory unless I grabbed an arrow pickup.
* Snowmen and their attacks should be blocked by obstacles.
* As you mention, you should not be locked in place from touching a tree. Even making the mining instant would make it more fun.
Nonetheless I like the crafting idea, really cool concept. Keep it up!
But I can see this becoming a really fun game.
But your game is fun nonetheless. Well done.
