Puzzle! by nassi

[raw]
made by nassi for LD31 (COMPO)
Puzzle! is a puzzling game about puzzles. No, not those brain twister puzzles you often see in games, but those things that you might've seen as a child, the ones with millions of tiny pieces you know? Aren't you exited already?

Features:
- My debut as a musician (thanks to http://onlinesequencer.net/ and http://www.bfxr.net/)!
- Sliders to affect the thingamajicks in the game!
- Beautiful hand drawn art. Hand drawn art. Art.
-- Choose from example.jpg and example.png

Hold the left mousebutton to drag the pieces and use the scroll for zooming. Esc returns to menu from the game.

If you want to load your own images you should take a look at the paths mentioned here: https://love2d.org/wiki/love.filesystem, create a folder called "Puzzle!" there, drop your images in the folder and just type the filename in the menu when opening the game (you also need to click the textfield to load the image). Damn, that was surprisingly complex.

Made in 14 hours or so, which is also a certain guarantee for quality!

I'll probably be somewhat busy for the next few weeks, but remember to leave a comment so that I can check out your game when I have the time.

A great jigsaw-puzzle game. I really liked the quirky music and the humorous image; it is indeed beautiful hand-drawn art! Well done for finishing it all in only 14 hours. :D

That surely wasn't what I would expect from a LD game. Nice realisation, though. What a beautiful drawing :3

Cool !
May be the pieces can snap when close to each other ?
Could make it more dynamic !
Funny drawing :)

Nice job, I like puzzles, and this is one of hard ones.
The idea to use a handmade art was good.
Good Music and funny idea

Nice job, I really like this one. Very well made - the controls and everything work excellently. I have liked a button to hold down to pan with your mouse - if there is one I didn't find it. The snapping is excellent and the ability to choose your own settings is great. Well done!

Thanks for all the encouraging comments! Must be hard to think of something to say when there's so little content.

@ix: example.jpg and example.png are actually different images, maybe I chose somewhat bad names for them :).

@ponk: you mean that they should snap when moving the piece? Because they do snap when you let go of the piece.

@little-burrito: "no panning", was one of the things in my original... planning. I guess I thought it fit the theme better that way.

Really nice execution I was hooked for 3x games in a row.
I think you could have make it more interesting by just swap the parameter menu with a 5x levels challenge. each one unlock the next, 5-6 minutes per rounds. I would have give twice more time with just this.
