Cheap Peripherals by TheMaster99

Cheap Peripherals is a game about a young boy who wakes up early in the morning to play a game on his computer... unfortunately for him, his monitor keeps dimming out! He can fix it by hitting the monitor a few times, but he keeps dying while doing so! Perhaps you can help him to beat the game?

Controls:
AD/Left Right - Move
W/Up - Jump
Q - Interact
Escape - Exit

I didn't have time to add background parallax; I spent too much time on IRC. Sorry everybody! Please don't shoot me!

~~Known Bugs~~
*Invisible floor at the bottom. As a result, you can't fall to your death, etc.
*Can wall grab/hang from ceilings/etc. Originally a collision bug, but I decided to keep them as a "feature".
*Goombas fall down very fast. Not really sure why this occurs, but I didn't have time to investigate much.
*Probably more, that I just can't think of at the moment.

A very basic game, but with a good idea based on the theme. Perhaps you could work on adding more interactivity to fixing the monitor though?

*player leaves the room* - I most certainly did not! Fun concept, but the platforming was a bit wonky. Still, I like the meta aspect.

I found this game to be a bit endearing. I liked the part where your mom screams at you. And yes, wall-clinging is a feature.

"Generic Platformer" seemed to end abruptly, with no finishing screen or visible boss. Was that intentional or did I trip a bug by going over the top to the switch first?

I was hoping there would be more interaction between the game and the "cheap peripherals", but I guess that might have been one of the things that lost out to time.
