Birdy Bird by WisdomUnit

[raw]
made by WisdomUnit for LD31 (JAM)
A simple game but very fun. It fits the theme well. This game was made by a team of 4 people. It was made in Processing. The art was in MS PAINT. Its a flappy bird kind of game. A short description but good.

Interesting use of screen space, but it works! I like the style (some clouds would be cool though). Thanks!

I liked it for the fun use of the screen space !
A simpler version of flappy bird asie from that. A tad sad you didn't added something more crazy with the processing possibilities .

Super annoying interface. I get what you were going for, but nah, not user friendly. Very meh flappyclone gameplay.

In my first run the first wall was solid, no hole to fly through. Bug?

I would have liked to see more feedback from the game. Buttons should signal that they have been pressed, otherwise it hard to follow what happens. Maybe you could have added some screen-shake when the bird hits the wall. A screen flash when the bird goes through a hole?

In a game like this its important that I can start over very quickly when I die. What you do here is have me move my mouse, click the restart text (a VERY slow fade start, hardly noticable), another hardly noticable fade-in happens in the start screen, I then have to move my mouse over to the title screen, I click the play button, nothing happens, I have to wait until fully faded in until I can click. Game restarts. I immediately fly into the second wall and have to go through all that again...

Work a little more on the user experience next time and you'll be good :)

The music is lovely :) Whistling along to it here in the office.

Love the music, the artwork is pretty nice aswell. As for the gameplay itself, I was hoping for a bit extra than the normal Flappy bird kind of games, but hey, it's still just as addictive as the original:P

Interesting interpretation of the theme, having the "screes" fade out and in - at first I thought it was a bug, but I realised after a couple of plays.
The music is quite nice, and the art is nice too. The idea really isn't an original one, though.

It's flappy bird, what can I say. It was a pretty faithful clone. I liked the screen transition thing!

Presentation wise, I think this is great (and you really took the theme to its limit, which blew my mind a little once I realised it was intentional) - but, it is flappy bird and I did notice a few collision bugs (seems your walls' collision boxes are offset by about half the "game screen" width towards the player) so I feel there was a lot more potential with the screenspace concept.
