Simian Situation by bradur

Simian Situation is a game where you play as a monkey defending its village from rampaging jungle beasts. The game plays like a classic shoot-em-up but is played from the perspective of a defender, not an attacker.

The target platform in mind was Android, so the controls are very simple. Just hold down mouse / touch on the screen and the player character follows your cursor and shoots.

A little fun but could do without the buy mechanic - pickups are quicker!

I like the shopmechanic, it isnt tideous like games that are "free" to play in the sense you dont have to but should spend money. In this game you could get upgrades fast and they had a huge impact :D

Very neat! Can def see this going someplace. But your flow could use a little update; after killing all attackers, I didn't have a chance to collect all the bones before the upgrade screen shows and covers them up.

It has all of the elements of a good game. But it is pretty impossible to get further the elephant round.

Nice little game! It was fun to play. I found the buy mechanic slightly confusing (If I buy a double fire first round, and then again second round, is it doubling the doubled fire? Or am I just wasting my money?). I also wasn't getting full feedback on when my bananas hit the animals (I think they only lit up about half the time). Lastly, the full game didn't fit on my monitor screen, so I was kinda left guessing for the bottom quarter of the screen. That said, I quite like the game (especially the giraffes) and def think it could go somewhere :). Well-done!

The screen (web) was larger than my laptop monitor, so I had to guess where the animals were at the top. That said, it made since for the target (android). The art was good, as the was the music and sound. Gameplay is simplistic but also well done.

Fun game, would love to try this on my Android at some point. The web version was too large for my monitor though, so it made it difficult to play. :(
Maybe a bit more balancing, but the game itself is pretty good!

Nothing crazy going on mechanically, but I love how much content/animation you were able to get into the game in such a short period. I wish the bones would've magnet-seeked into your guy at the end of the level, it was a bit hard to collect them all under the menu.
