Letter Run by Grehg

[raw]
made by Grehg for LD31 (COMPO)
Find and pick up letters.
Use them to activate the menu to exit the game.

I am embarrassed at how bad this is but I'm glad it has coherent win/loss conditions.
Feel free to make fun of it.

I didn't have time for sound(and the sound icon in-game doesn't do anything either)

Neat! I can see something like this being used as an educational game. Will have to show this to a coworker

The game doesn't feel all that closely tied to the theme, but beyond that it's a fairly solid concept that - with some polish, some more features and a few more areas to explore - could be expanded to produce a respectable result. The graphics also show some promise; the effect on the enemies in particular was quite nice.

i really like the concept of using letters/symbols that you collect to gradually "unlock" the game. i'm not sure that it really follows the theme, but i like the flat shaded minimal artstyle. all it needs is a little polish :P

Nice idea. Rooms are simillar to BoI - but it's good ;)
However I didn't have sound or music - is that correct?

Concept has real promise. I'm a sucker for word games, and there's potential for this to be a fun new subgenre.

I totally love the fact than your control panel is actually a game component.
Adding sound this way was also a cool idea, too bad you had no time to complete it.
It would be nice to have a letter list to know what we hold.

It's also possible to run throught a door bringin back the key by open and close it fast and croos it during the animation. You should probably lock player move while you open/close door and accelerate the animation to keep a fast pace.

Interesting idea ^^
the game seems to be simple, but it took me a while to get the mechanic with letters xDD

Hi there. Really slick, nice level design... getting chased by two packs of T's was nasty... Bookmarked for another play later on. Good job!

I wish you had more time! It's very interesting concept! I'm delighted by the way you introduced movement instructions and then connected them with game mechanics. This sound indicator(a pity, you couldn't make it work) was also promise for few fun mechanisms. Enemies from letter particles - super cool! Please, spend some more time on this project and deliver us cool experience, promised by this demo. :)
