xxx_HEART_STOCK_IMG_xxx by aare
Hello M80's!
Firstly I need to confess, before compo I said I'm gona use the C++, but then changed my mind, decided to try something entirelly new, and ended up learning a lot of cool stuff about the node.js, socket.io and cursing about the javascript... I certailny get my punishement here :P
TLDR:
As a result, I hereby present you the xxx_HEART_STOCK_IMG_xxx - a multiplayer card game. You can play it with other people online, with your friend if you type the same game tag, or with yourself if you open it in two tabs and generally dont mind the idea of playing with yourself...
BORING NERD STUFF:
Hope the game is more or less self explanatory, but for those interested few words about its mechanic.
At the beginning I planed to make it much more complex, but ended up having cards with only two stats, health and damage. You can tweak it for each card in any way you want, except the health cannot be lower than 1 and if the cost is higher than 10 you wont be ever able to play it.
After you finished the deck, and find an opponent you can ban 5 of his cards so they will be removed from his deck entirelly.
Then the game bigins, with each turn you gain one mana crystal until it reaches ten, and each turn you can play any number of cards as long as the sum of they cost doesn't exceed the current ammount of crystals that you have.
Once minions are placed on the board, in random order, one by one they attack one of the enemy minions or the enemy player. The chances are equall for all of them.
The game ends when health of one of the players drops to below 1.
P.S. I decided to not opt out from audio and graphics 'cause though I didn't made any one of them, I did creativelly choosed and placed/edited them in a specific way in the game.
I'm thinking about this as a sort of collage...

Didn't really understand what kind of game this was at the beginning, it was quite cluttered and I had no idea where my cards went.
The idea behind this however is amazingly fun.
The game plays like a heartstone, after you select the card and hit the ready button they are automatically played and thus disappear from your hand. Then when opponent also is done that you can see the minions on screen.

It was fun, but when there are no more cards on the board and the two players are still alive, the game don't stop by itself, so you have to disconnect ...
this is a great job!
Our problem this LD is with the low number of people online. How do you get people to rate if they can't play?!?
Anyway, we just had to make an online game. It just felt right.
