Asteroid Sweeper is multiplayer arena game where you control a spaceship and need to hit the other player with an asteroid by slinging it at his/hers spaceship using your tractorbeam.

This was our first Ludum Dare and enjoyed it very much, we'll defenitaly will do it again next time.

------------- Notes -------------
For now the game is Windows only and can only be played with controllers. (Sorry too you OSX and Linux users, these will be supported later on).

BUG Fix: If the controllers are somehow messed up, like player 2 controller controls player 1:
Unplug the controllers -> Start the game -> Plug the controllers in and it should work
------------- Notes -------------

Controls:
Left Trigger = Boost
Right Trigger = Tractor Beam
Right Thumbstick = Rotation
Start Button = Pause
Back Button = Reset

Grab an asteroid with your tractor beam and rotate the spaceship using the right thumbstick when you have enough momentum let go of the tractorbeam trigger and the meteor gets launched, keep in mind to keep pointing the r-thumb in the direction you want to shoot just before releasing.

Controlling the rotation to launch an asteroid is quite hard. It seems to work in noticeable intervals instead of smoothly on every input. I had to unplug the controllers before starting the game. Otherwise I could rotate using the right thumbstick. (Two XBox 360 Pads) The teleportation sound is a bit too loud and tedious for every time one pops off the screen.
Shading and meshes look ok, though I had the feeling that the whole render image was stretched. You can see it in the screenshots too, like there is a fish-eye effect, but just for the asteroids. It seems off, but maybe that's just me.

Other then that this is great! The explosion of an aircraft looks fantastic, the sound is entertaining, if a bit repetitive. If the rotation was more precise I think I could get a lot of playtime out of this.
