Marvin's Journey by BlennosoftGames

[raw]
made by BlennosoftGames for LD31 (COMPO)
Join Marvin on his journey to find the sunflower in the garden of totally ordinary-looking, not-at-all-suspicious bushes. Collect lightning bolts to increase Marvin's walk speed to more quickly succeed in his quest.

How do you give a sense of variety if you can't leave the area/screen? Simple: Change the one you already have. Maybe zoom out a little.

Arrow Keys / WASD - to move around.
M - Mute / UnMute SFX

I loved the bushes movement! Needs some sort of difficulty though

Nice idea rearranging the bushes but needs more gameplay to make it difficult!

Fun concept, agreed that there needs to be some kind of gameplay to make things interesting. The moving bushes and the sunflower are super cute; the image of Marvin on the title screen hits my nightmare button ;_;

Moving bushes are adorable. :D
Just gameplay-wise there wasn't much to it.

I thought the bush rearranging was really cool and captured the theme very well.

Those are some suspiciously looking, non-supicious bushes there my friend.... I not sure about them.... haha

Very clever take on the theme, as some others have said, the game needs a bit more challenge and side-goals, like why get the lightning bolts (most of which I must get in order to get to the flower) sure it speed him up but it would be faster to not sidetrack and just go straight to the flower.

Maybe have some obstacles that move real quick and so you have the choice, risk trying to go through normally to save time or go get some more speed to make it through easier. This would pair well with a constant timer ticking down between each maze so it's all about choices and how they'll affect how much time and speed you have later on as the mazes get harder.

Anyways, great job with the theme innovation!
