Stack Hacker by biscuitWizard

[raw]
made by biscuitWizard for LD31 (JAM)
You play a hacker in this memory-testing hacking minigame!

Quickly corrupt the memory blocks listed at the right to crash the firewall, and get paid!

Build:

I used Unity3D, C# Messenger Extended, and PyxelEdit to make this game. Completed in under 48 hours, I didn't quite have the time to add sound effects or come up with some catchy music to play in the background.

Pretty fun, reminds me Uplink. I liked the color coding of the cells. If you ever get a chance, some tense music would definitely add to the mood to this!

Okay! Hold up! No comments here??? This was extremely cool ! I loved hacker games as a kid and this is really simple yet it's conveyed in such an immersive and genuine way. Really good job. I gave this a 5 overall because it's just really cool even though the actual game is pretty simple :)

I like the look and feel, especially the transitions between levels and background readouts. Good mood.

All the random text was a bit overwhelming! but other than that it suits the theme really well, good job!

Really like the mood of the game.
With all the writing on the screens, it felt like in a good ol' movie with a hacker from the 90's :)

Nice. I have to say I found the new UI less intuitive than you, especially layout. Congrats on pushing through :)

10000 $ in a few minutes. Wish I was that easy in real life ;) Fun little game, some sounds would have been nice.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments! I really appreciate the feedback! :)

I really wish I had some sounds in the game, would make it just so much better. Definitely something to focus post-LD or next LD.

I also changed the website background to black.

Pretty solid entry for just a few hours! Great difficulty ramp. I wonder what the global high score will be?

Lol! This game reminds me the time when I coded some BufferOverflow Xploits in order to test my skill. Really good work. Neat ++
