Grass crawl by island212

[raw]
made by island212 for LD31 (JAM)
Grass Crawl is a take on the old time dungeon text crawler.
Except with dungeons AND grass AND forests. Didn't expect that huh?
Think of it as a sort of simulation where your character is a warrior traveling across the entirety of the map, discovering dungeons and fighting monsters among other enemies.
The more you fight and discover better equipment, the stronger your character will grow.
Watch your character improve until he is ready to fight the special boss at the end!

This game was to big for only one programmer and two designer but I love it. Wish you can have fun ^^

Wait was the only option I could get to work. If I clicked move. wasd. arrows, clicking did not seem to work.

Couldn't figure out how to move so some sort of tutorial would've been nice. Good graphics though

I did figure out how to move, but not how to attack or do anything else.
Regardless, I do see potential in this. You just need to add instructions in order for it to be playable.

Very ambitious game for such a small programming team. The elements that were finished were well done. Can't wait to see more, the only critic I had was I got him to move on the first round but couldn't figure how to do so any other round so I just sat there waiting for enemies.

Anyways, can't wait to see a post-Jam of this one..wink,wink,nudge,nudge :)

I feel like there's something here, it's just hard to figure out what's going on. You move...and then wait? Does 'attack' do anything? Hmmm. Also, the window is so large, I have to move it around to see what's going on. I'd like to see it polished up a bit, though!

I also couldn't get Move to work much (it worked a few times). But I managed to fight some enemies by waiting for like 30 turns until one wandered over to me. The pixel art combat animations are pretty sweet!
