Velocity by madcoil

made by madcoil for LD31 (JAM)
My first ever actually sort of maybe finished game! Made with Construct 2.

Instructions should be sufficient but just some extra notes:

- Speed is your health. You slow down and you lose!

The audio gives special dimension to this game, nice work.

Lovely quick hit gaming. Very tough at times if you don't get that initial momentum.

Epileptic proof, but a good first entry, with a nice concept. Well done, even if play it too much will result with a little loss of coordination and dancing walls, a hangover without drinking, in fact... XD

Realy like the audio on this one. Had funn playing it, and when I accitentaly found the split funktion I was just like "AWESOME :D"
But it vas a little bit iritating when the things that shoot you pop up almost right in the front of you when you begin.

There should be a splash screen explaining what the goal of the game is. Other than that, the music sets a good pace. And the game is fun to play for a while. This is not bad at all, bearing in mind the whole thing was built with Construct 2.

The speed as health idea is really interesting! I tried to play this the proper way for a few games, never figured out if I was supposed to collect or avoid the blue squares (they look like something I'd want, but I often picked up a red square along with them when it didn't seem like the hitboxes ought to do that.)

Then I discovered that you could spam left, miss the entirety of everything, and rack up a huge score. So heads up there. :)

I really liked the game: simple and fun. The music is great.

After the first few tries I noticed that you can always press the left or right arrow keys and you will never ever hit the red boxes. My high score is ~394000. And one more thing. If the score is higher than 99999, only the first 5 digits of the score will be displayed (394000 => 39400).

Good job overall.
