Flying Blind by Rahazan

[raw]
made by Rahazan for LD31 (COMPO)
Due to budget cuts your Full HD monitor was removed from your desk, now you are an air traffic controller with a terribly small monitor. Good thing you have decent visual memory!

Guide the planes down, they don't bounce off eachother.

A score higher than 200 and you can surely apply for an air traffic controller job in real life.

--

Click and hold MOUSE1 to guide planes/helicopters
For landing planes, draw a line from the white end of the runway along it.
Press M to toggle MUSIC.

There are two levels.

There seem to be differences between playing in Google Chrome and Firefox. In Firefox it runs and looks a little better.

I think you have created a very nice game. It has nice and friendly atmosphere.

Elegant graphics, interesting design. I got a plane to fly over the entire runway, but couldn't make it land. :( But helicopters... man, I could set them down all day. :)

Make sure you land on the white end of the runway :)

Thanks for playing!

Great take on the theme. Gets a bit difficult a bit fast though.

Calming music and super polished graphics. Could use a little more feedback on when a plane is landing (maybe shadow ? or something else.

Pacing was a little off because it's easy for a long time and then suddenly overwhelming. Replayability is a little low, but more levels or other features would be great.

Good game, it's a good idea to have a screen in the windows screen, it's like having the game on one screen in the game even him!
After several minutes playing the game becomes slow and freezer up my pc. I think it's because I doing fly planes in around to waiting others landing.

Hi there. Nice idea, nice implementation, BUT... (and it's a big but) almost killed my computer (3 mins of lag and Chrome very knickers-in-a-twist) once there were about 10 planes queued up for landing. Needs to idle loop more maybe, or do less in each update ? Nice game apart from that.

Sorry to hear about the bad performance, I had to write much of the drawing code myself to get the part-of-the-screen-only-updates behavior in Phaser.

It was all written very na茂vely and Phaser could not know about these entities, so I had to write mirror implementations for collisiondetection, mouse click detection. All this killed performance :/. You can try it in Firefox, it seems to work a little bit better there.

Really polished product, and very cool concept, beautifully executed. =) Pacing is a bit off.

Cool concept! I only found that, in the feedback department, you could've added a little marker or something if you at least lined up a plane or helicopter correctly. Right now you can let the plane land and after that do more rounds, it's a bit confusing.

I'm a bit dualsided on the innovation scoring, cause on one hand, the game is quite.. done already, but on the other hand, you have this unique screen feature, so yeah.

Graphics were good, audio was ok, so yeah, nice effort!
(My game shares some concepts with yours, feel free to check it out :P)

Excellent game concept! You must act fast if you don't want to get overhelmed by all these incoming planes and helicopters :-)
Very well done!

What a cool game and interesting concept. I like the theme here and the way you put it all together. The music wasn't my favorite but fit the atmosphere. All in all it felt very well made and complete which is something I haven't seen a lot of yet. Well done!
