Neighboring by psychonull

[raw]
made by psychonull for LD31 (JAM)
This is our attempt at an apartment-neighbours survival game.

Every person in each apartment has different interests, and some of them may interfere with others. Try to keep everyone in the neighborhood healthy... while you can.

We initially planned lots of interactions and features but had to leave some stuff out because of the lack of time.

Controls: Point and Click

Tools used:
A JavaScript lib we are making (the jam was great for testing :) ): https://github.com/psychonull/pac
Art: A mix of photoshop, gimp and piskel
Sound: LMMS, except crying baby from http://www.soundjay.com/baby-crying-sound-effect.html

Stay neigh-boring!

Man, I cannot keep these people happy. Interesting concept though, and great job with the pixel art.

Good concept, became quite stressful to manage them all. Fits the theme really nicely. I like the cross-section view and the graphics are really nice

Interesting concept, but I couldn't really work out what raised the stats - seemed like everything went down no matter what. I loved the sounds and the graphics are pretty good too.

Great! That was funny, the family know they're disaster as parents and i like sound sample when everyone gets crazy. The animation quite reminds me some old lucas art in a way... Good! but if this stupid baby would die in a way it would be better

Huh, not sure what to think. I like time management games but this one doesn't really grab me for some reason. Maybe because there are no meaningful event chains you can set up? Nice entry tho :)

The concept is REALLY cool (do you know georges perec's book Life a users manual?). Need more works (animations, more possibilities, maybe levels (more and more appartment...)) and this will be a good point and click!
Does the man in the middle want to become a pirat? He remind me someone...

I confess I found this completely baffling (I managed 248s) but I absolutely loved the Lucasarts style art and how different and unusual this is :)
