The Poutinerie by ajayajayaj

made by ajayajayaj for LD32 (JAM)
You are a dictator of a country. Your economy has fallen and your citizens are trying to revolt. You have nothing... except maybe... The poutinerie. All you have is some fatty... buttery... poutine... The kind that will give a heart attack in just one bite...

It might be hard to notice but on the screens after you hit play (the storyline screens) it says click to continue at the top.

Check out my timelapse here: http://youtu.be/0ylpbaGRnb4

Note: After the jam I made it so it tells you your score at the end. It's a small thing so I hope that doesn't matter.

I can't say I enjoyed playing it (the gameplay was far too simplistic and boring). The art was also rather limited.
I'm also not sure how this fits the theme (you're basically just shooting targets with objects).

Very Fun! Poutine is a rather unconventional weapon. Is a dictator using potine a reference to Putin?

Needed something more to the gameplay. Music was spot on for the feel of the theme though.

Interesting gameplay but got boring to quick, but i think it has potential as a defence game with some more work.

Heh, it's kinda fun but would be better with some more balancing and maybe different enemy types. Like, a line a 6 upgraded dictators can stop pretty much everything for a long time... except... in my case, the game would sometimes freeze for a few seconds at the time, during which time apparently my guys weren't firing but the enemies continued moving?? Quite annoying. That's the only reason I lost health and died, once I understood how to play. :\

I'm not a huge fan of tower defense, but I had a lot of fun with this. The "towers" were unique and I liked the fact that they needed to be aimed.

@HellBlazer Ya. This is the first time I have used delta time so the soeed is multiplied by it and then the guys go off the screen. You can lose jets to that too.

This makes my computer lag. I can't run it :(

Simple concept, nicely implemented. The UI is pretty intuitive, but the constant manual aiming is a bit tedious at times. I like the variety of weapons and the increase in difficulty. The music is quite disturbing... but I guess it fits the theme of the game. :D

Could have more types of enemies but I liked it! :)
