!!!! Updated file so the music loops now. Didn't expect people to play it long enough for that to be an issue. Also fixed a bug where the FG/BG objects weren't actually scrolling !!!!

It's too late... the screamers are here. As a last ditch effort, the scientists release "ghost39," the only weapon they have left and their only hope for survival. Unfortunately the game required narrative in order to justify the "unconventional weapon" theme... use your imagination!

Navigate the bullet-hell sidescroller as ghost39 while dodging lasers and absorbing screamers.

I tried to branch out this time and NOT make a point and click, but it kinda bit me in the ass.

The game ends, although it doesn't really have an ending. Due to the time constraints, and the difficulty getting the enemies to behave, I had to cut enormous amounts of stuff. What you're left with is the basic gameplay minus the narrative and level system.

see how much health you can have left at the end!

not bad, especially for an adventure outside of your comfort zone. I felt that the character moves forward a bit slowly, but it was still fun to navigate the maze, and the dissolving effect of the dead enemies is really cool.

Pretty fun, feels a lot like running a gauntlet :)
I really like the color scheme and the overall aesthetic you've achieved ties together well!

A nice little game. The music didn't loop :( and it started to lag slightly after the song ended. The colors are great. I really like the style and I had to play it a few times to get good.

Cool game. Kinda hard to figure out what hurts you and what doesn't when you start

I liked the art style, and the music quite a bit. I have to agree that the character movement was moving a little slow.

Really struggled on the innovation grade. On the one hand sending out an experimental ghost certainly isn't conventional, but on the other the ghost doesn't actually do much.

Also, and this is a bit of a nit-pick, but I would not classify this as a bullet-curtain game. Just because you can die very suddenly isn't the primary factor in those, the primary factor is pattern memorization and intensely precise control, which I really do not feel in this game.

Graphics and audio are solid and serve their purpose.

Nice look and music to this one. The game play was fun at times but that x pattern that hits you seems extremely overpowered. I also had a hard time telling when I could or could not hit an enemy. I am not sure how well this ties into the theme either.

When I don't look at it like a bullet hell but rather like a "puzzle" of navigating the lasers and obstacles it makes more sense.

Great music and pixel art! The game needs more audio :-) I found it difficult early on although it is rather slow. So it seems like the enemy waves were carefully scripted.

Whoa, I really like the graphics! They're super lo-res and look great -- like an old commodore or something with a milkier palette. The music too, nice and relaxing. The game was super hard for me, but this is a really cool, low-key game.

I liked the aesthetic for some reason xD Minimal color palettes are very appealing to me for some reason. Could have used some audio. Aside from that, game is pretty nice, would be interested to see what you do with the upgrades/story if you ever decide to expand it. I liked the small resolution as well, gave it a bite-sized feel.

Good luck!

Took a while to realise I didn't have to dodge the redish blocks, just the orange laser. The movement felt a little clunky, but it was fun and I really like the graphics.

I like the cheery music and the bodies scattered over the floor. The color palette is excellent, as is the art in general (though I could do with more contrast between foreground and background). Quite fun to play, though very difficult, in true bullet hell style :)

I liked this entry - a good mood and a simple gameplay - maybe a little bit hard for me, but it's good enough. The mechanic seems to me too rigid - you need to improve it by using some smooth movement. Music nice. Thumbs up ++
