Dubstep Gun: The Game by WaffleWorks

[raw]
made by WaffleWorks for LD32 (COMPO)
Hold on to your bass! Wielding their banjos, the country music lovers are trying to destroy dubstep forever! Luckily, you have the ultimate weapon - The Dubstep Gun. You can use it to fire waves of bass at the enemies, but be careful, if you let the country music or the crazed country folk reach you then you lose health. Also, be sure to use your Dubstep Gun only when you need to, because it needs to recharge power after using it. Dubstep-ify as many people as you can to get the highest score possible. But be careful, as the enemies will come faster and faster!

Neat concept, I think if it were a bit more difficult it would actually be more fun. As it stands it's a bit trivial.

Haha, needs more dub step though. Also I ran through the wall and got stuck :(

not bad. I feel like the dubstep gun still functions a lot like a more conventional gun, but it's still a fun gadget to use. Syncing up the nightclub-styled effects to activating the gun was a nice touch.

Cool idea, I like the disco mood. Once you know not to spam, you can pretty much never die. Keep up the good work!

I think it was awesome. Not a fan of dubstep myself, but I did wish I could hear the music more. Maybe if the song played continuously, but ramped up in volume or if shooting the gun trigger the "Drop".

I feel like some visual cue on the gun showing that it was charging up (maybe a neon blue light?) would have made it feel a lot better.

Lol funny idead. And I love that gameover bango jingle :)
However ennemies and shots collisions were sometime a bit messy and the difficulty curve maybe a bit too slow.

The game is easy, but it is very interesting. I have no idea how you would come up with the idea *cough* Saint's Row *cough* ;)

The first time was pretty confusing, because nothing was happening when firing the weapon. Only in the second game I found out the projectiles. The continuous charge bar decrease and the single projectiles stand a bit in contrast.

Otherwise the game was pretty cool, albeit pretty easy.
