Anyway, I just played it (starting at the correct spot), and loved it. Excellent level design and fun gameplay. One of my favorites.
The first time I played I skipped the first powerup, thinking it was a hazard. I got all the way to the long jump that requires kissing (the room with text) before I couldn't proceed. I also couldn't backtrack.
It was super-tricky to get there in that state because I couldn't kill enemies so I had to lure them onto all the triggers alive, and prop doors open with my head to make the timing. I guess you could say I got the extra-tough puzzle version!
Normally I would call it a session at that point rather than repeat, but the game was so good I wanted to see more so I restarted and beat the game.

A couple small things that I found.
There were a couple times where I would fall through one of the down doorways and onto some spikes. It's a little cheap but not a big deal because there was a checkpoint right at the top. But the problem is that the screen transition (which is a cool effect) never catches up to where I died, so I never saw where the spikes were. So I was forced to just repeatedly jump to my death until I happened to find the platform. This happened at two different points in the game.
When I hold up I didn't bounce any higher on the enemies. It means that to cross that one spike section with the button in the middle I had to repeatedly die to get the enemies to spawn and fill it up with their bodies to cross. It worked, but probably not what you intended :)
I got stuck after getting the reflect power; the shooter enemy fell onto the button but the door only opened briefly.
Despite not being able to see the whole game I was very impressed by it all, especially the sprites and the overlay effects, made everything really cohesive.
Good overall work!
some bugs (I got stuck by a blue wall on a re-spawn point, I crossed the floor) but the presentation of the rooms is really cool!
(just: first play, I avoid the big red thing until I had to "kiss" while jumping, and I realized that I didn't know kissing... It looks more like an enemy than a power-up...)

Also, your game is great! I don't really have anything to say about improving it that't not a nitpick.
