Conventionally Banned by Sverik

[raw]
made by Sverik for LD32 (COMPO)
-=-=- Backstory -=-=-
This is a game about weapons that have been banned by various conventions. The list contains landmines, toxic nerve agents, blinding lasers etc.
You, the player, are a president, a dictator of a country and you don't really care about conventions and regulations. People are upset and want to overthrow your regime. You have all the means to stop them. All the banned means...

-=-=- Technical -=-=-
Run the JAR file: java -jar conventionallyBanned-LD32.jar

Built with Android Studio, on top of libgdx and this tutorial: http://obviam.net/index.php/getting-started-in-android-game-development-with-libgdx-create-a-working-prototype-in-a-day-tutorial-part-1/

-=-=- Conclusion -=-=-
Plans were much bigger, as always. Only the landmine is implemented. Again, too many new things to learn during just 48 hours (libgdx, the new Android Studio). Though, libgdx seems like a pretty solid thing for doing cross-platform apps (Android and Java desktop).

All works smoothly, but you can make it bigger, love the posibility of playing it in my mobile phone.

You also have an ending if you don't kill anybody. Good work here.

Good job releasing on android! brofist! game was perhaps a little simplistic but I hope it was a good learning experience, I recommend Intellij community edition over android studio.

Simple, fun, and somewhat challenging. Could use some polish and more variety but overall good!

Pretty simple game, but had me going for a while. Though, i'd be better if it wouldn't be so click heavy. I like the idea, but yeah, too much clicking. Also no sound. no music. But got me pretty addicted for a while. Good job!

Basic gameplay functions well. Some on-screen counters (mines placed, people stopped) would have been nice.

The alternate ending was a nice touch :-)

Cool that it works on android! Gameplay felt lacking though, I just clicked as quickly as I could until I lost. It would have been cool if kills got you $money$ and let you buy more powerful banned weapons from a store (chemical weapons, biowarfare, nukes...)
