Alien Prisoner (Used C# with MonoGame)
You are a prisoner trying to escape the aliens who spits eyes (this is the "Unconventional Weapon", i decided to let the enemies use it instead of the player) at you.
Use your ball shooter to kill the evil aliens and claim victory!
This is my first Ludum Dare entry, i was unsure of what to make, i ended up with this idea.
How to play! (Important!)
You Need MonoGame Redistributable files to run this!
The game files are found in: \LudumDare32\LudumDare32\bin\Windows\Release\LudumDare32.exe
Controllers:
Arrow-keys ( Left, Right )
Jump ( Space )
Fire ( V )
Programs used:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2013

Very nice game. Didnt really fit the theme with just a normal gun too much but the graphics were really nice. Sound effects probably would have made it better. I like it.

Nice game. My weapon didn't seem to fire all the time. I like the look especially the aliens eyes.

jrserjeant, the fire system is abit weird, so it only fires every 0.8s, so you have to hold down the fire button xD it's very weird solution i know :(

Controls and weird way shooting works kinda spoil the experience of really pleasant game. I fell of those damn stairs like over 1000 times. Some checkpoints would be nice too, I was determined to finish the game but after 10 minutes of playing I fell into that green thing, died and... respawned in the very beginning? :(

Congrats on your first LD! Controls were a little janky for a platformer, but it was playable and not too hard to finish.

Welcome to LD! This is a pretty good entry. I'm not really feeling the "unconventional weapon" flavor though. The aliens are shooting eyeballs... but swap that sprite with a bullet, and the game's about the same.
