ClanFree by Daiwen
As she was waking up, Adjoua could not help but remember what had happened in
the last few days. The day before yesterday was when she had been asked to
chose which weapon she would specify in. After having spent most of her life
training in the different traditional forms of combat, she didn't feel any of
them suited her style.
The Ceremony of Choice is rite of passage in the clan, it start a sunrise and
end and sunset. During the morning, the teenager must show their mastery of
the different forms by standing their ground against their instructor in front
of the rest of the clan. The witness can interrupt the fight if they feel
satisfied by the adolescent display. The whole clan then share a meal together,
the teenager will then be left alone to meditate on the weapon they will
choose. Finally, they will present themselves with the chosen weapon to the
council of elders, where a master will be chosen to help with their
specialization in using this weapon.
When Adjoua confronted the elders with a flute and an enchanted arrow, they took it as an insult. She has been roaming ever since enjoying her new found freedom at the peril of her life. How long will she last?

The story in your description was great, and I really liked the idea behind the gameplay, that being said, I think your execution was off. Running from zombies is only interesting for so long, also the screen is very small so it is difficult when zombies pop in from off screen from not very far away and you have to react. but it seems like you have the core of a really cool game,
java -jar desktop-1.0.jar

Personally, I found the sound to be a little annoying (looping zombie-groan) and I would have enjoyed to play a little longer than just dying with the first hit, though.
Also the rather close camera made every round more frenetic than tactical. Sadly, the gameplay didn't introduce any new elements such as obstacles, upgrades, or different enemy types (e.g. slower but tougher zombies, shooting foes, etc.)
I agree with Phil that the sound got a bit annoying - maybe have a few different groans, and have them play less frequently?
- interesting concept, fits nicely with the theme (inspired by GotG?)
- the zombie 'grahrrr' sound effect can be quite annoying
- the background-story in the description is nice, but where do the zombies fit in?
The presentation was understandably rough around the edges but I do hope you'll keep working on this. The gameplay has real promise.
