Box Hammer Heaven Arena by Trafulgoth

[raw]
made by Trafulgoth for LD32 (JAM)
Battle in first person in an arena filled with boxes and a limited supply of health packs.

You can pick up and place the boxes if you like. Maybe build yourself a little fort, all snug and comfy.

NOTE: You can Activate health packs to pick them up, you have to Use a health pack to heal. Activate defaults to 'e' while use defaults to 'mouse 1'. Those can be rebound as per normal for Unity games. You can't use the health pack from your inventory, you have to put it down, then Use it.

The inventory screen is extremely derpy. It works, but is dumb. If your inventory is empty, opening your inventory doesn't show anything, but still pauses the game. You can still unpause it as usual, with Cancel, which defaults to 'esc'.

STABILITY:
I do not have a OSX or Linux machine, so the stability of those builds is completely unknown.
On the Windows version, the game sometimes crashes when you quit the game, which isn't so bad, but it is kinda annoying from my perspective.

CONTROLS:
Standard FPS controls; wasd moves, mouse looks, tab for inventory, esc for menu, e for activate, LMB for attack, RMB for use.

Wasn't sure about how to use health packages at first. And the game lacks some gameplay. But it runs and works solid so nice job!

It wasn't too bad, but it needs some polish.

A solid start but could definitely use some improvement. It took my a long time to figure out how to heal and build. The ability to build was an interesting touch though! Combat could use some polishing as well.

The controls were a bit tricky at first, maybe having a practice room would've helped? But once you got used to it, it was really fun to try and figure out ways to build block structures so that you could hit the enemies but they couldn't hit you. :)

I like the way the enemies collapse into pieces when you defeat them, including the health bar above their heads :)
