Spacebees by Lycaon

[raw]
made by Lycaon for LD32 (JAM)
Spacebees is exactly what it sounds like. A game about bees. In space. With guns.

Controller strongly recommended. Move with the left stick/WASD, aim with the right stick/mouse, fire with R1/right bumper/left click.

Also got a 404 for the web link and couldn't find Spacebees under your itchi.io directory. Did you remember to pick the option to make it public?

It was fun, but I don't see how a normal gun fits the theme. Also, the abrupt start meant I began every level with 1 or 2 hit points and the camera only followed me when I shot. Unsure if that was a deliberate mechanic.

It's great. The camera should always keep the player in the center, though.

It's super fun to be a bee firing a machine gun. A weird glitch happened to me though where my health would not decrease.

Bee with a gun. Such a bizarre concept (in a good way,) but it doesn't fit the theme. There is a glitch with the screen. The screen can only scroll when I keep firing.

Haha someone played too much NT :D

Game was ok but buggy (I think most problems were already reported). Also I would have but controller off my default.

Camera only moves when shooting, and when you are backed up against a wall the bullets get stuck so you can't defend yourself. Also needs a safe haven to spawn into so you don't loose all your health when the game starts. Don't really see how the weapon is unconventional. This being said, I thought the firing felt really good, and I love the graphics. There's some hiccups but a pretty solid entry.

it's um ... well, it's a machine gun. I don't really feel like it's overwhelmingly "unconventional," even if bees don't usually use them.
That said, the machine gun *does* feel quite nice. The large bullet size, ample screen shake, light impact effects, and bee corpses really loan a great sense of weight to the gunplay.

proves to me how exciting it is to obliterate with a powerful gun
