Love the graphics, made me nostalgic for the old nintendo days, I got to a certain spot in the first level and couldnt advance. all in all great job though!

A little rough around the edges, I would get stuck in the ground or walls now and then, but it's a lot of fun! The food theme is pretty cool.

Pros:

Creative scenario, artistic, interesting level design. Good sound effects and music. Multiple types of enemies with unique mechanics, fluid movement.

Cons:

Main menu arrow registers keypresses as anything from 1-3 presses. Platforming was buggy at times. Steak weapon was almost useless. LD32 "unconventional weapon" theme was not all that central to the game. Loading times were a bit long.

The Good:
- The graphics were good looking and mostly all fit together
- I'm a programmer, so I'm impressed by your sloping platforms
- I laughed at the animation and sound of just holding down Z with the chicken leg equipped
- The fact that you had different enemies with different skills
- The fact that there was a boss battle at all

The Bad:
- The music was pretty repetitive
- There was no indication that I was actually hitting the enemies when I tried to use the chicken leg and the reach seemed so small that I was constantly dying trying to kill stuff, so I just switched to the carrot, which was also hard to use
- I was able to just cheese the entire game up until the boss by just running and jumping past everything
- Having to restart from the beginning of the game made it hard to keep playing after dying a few times

The Ugly:
- The OS/X application didn't work on my MacBookPro (but the jar version did, so no big consequence)
- Collisions needed some work, but nothing that I haven't had problems with myself

Nice job though! GO LD32!

Love the idea of using food as a weapon against other pieces of food. Cool music :)

Sprite/Artwork was great, background loop was also fine... sound effects were okay but annoyed me after a while... aside from that, there are several collision issues (I managed to jump through the first house), and I avoided most enemies. Some enemies I jumped over but clearly hit, but took no damage... you can reach the end like this. The concept is interesting but you could have used the theme to better effect...

Good entry overall, good luck and keep at it xD

I really love the NES art-style, it's original, however it feels familiar and warming.

For a team of beginners you did a great job. You've got more than enough levels and a good variety of characters. The execution is a bit off (physics bugs, missing hit indicators, you can run through the entire level without damage), but that's to be expected if you're just starting out.

Keep it up!

Had the intro bugging out when I tried to play but once the game started it seemed to fix up.

nice graphics and music. the platforming part felt a bit unresponsive and hit detection wasn't always as i'd expect it.
