Bubblegum Parkour by Linus Lindberg

[raw]
made by Linus Lindberg for LD32 (COMPO)
I got started really late, so didn't get to do everything I had planned.
The theme might not be very obvious, but the idea was that the gum was an "Unconventional Weapon", it would be used to trap enemies in bubbles too, but I didn't have time to implement that :P

This is really just a concept more than I game, but it's pretty fun, I might finish it later :)

Short and do not really respect the theme.

aw man, over too soon! There's something about the aesthetic that really clicks with me, minimalism and parkour and all that, which I really liked. The bubblegum was was also pretty clever.

gameplay is fun, but no theme at all. Graphics also looks nice. Too short.

Cool little platformer! Portable trampolines are fun, nice artstyle aswell. Only thing is that the theme is missing, as you already said. Oh well, 48h huh :) (oh and it broke down a couple times, I couldnt spawn the bubbles anymore). You should continue on this.

Nice short game. The "buble-mechanic" is interesting and I liked the art.

Camera should be tweaked so you can always see where you're going to land.

Very neat concept! I think it the game mechanic merits further exploration in a longer game.

Too bad you didn't get far enough to actually implement what was supposed to be the interpretation of the theme, but as a game, disregarding the theme, it honestly just makes it better to me.

Unfortunately it bugged out where I needed multiple bubbles. Suddenly bubbles stopped appearing when I pressed space, but I could still walk.

The graphics are really nice, so it's too bad you didn't have time to add some fitting music (except you did, haha; you've got 7 hours left of the jam at my time of writing this!).

Fun to play! The game was kind of hard, but the minimalism and parkour is awesome. However, the game didn't really meet the theme and there was no audio. Add that and the game would be good!

No! It's not an ugly demo. Instead I consider it one of the best gameplay which has been developed during this LD session. Add some enemies, a big parcours, a background music and you have a game. I liked. Thank you ++

Don't be sorry! It's short indeed, but it's very nice.
It reminds me of the first levels of Quackshot.

Great concept for the game, very nice hit detection. I wish it had audio and more to the game, like enemies. And a theme, I don't know why I'm playing or any story

Ooh, it's a shame this is so short! The pixel art is cute in a strange, moody way, and the core mechanics are lots of fun. The game makes me want to just run around exploring the map! I do feel it makes good use of the theme too, despite what others have said.

One thing I'd suggest if you want to expand on this: make it so it can be run quickly. There's a great sense of flow from hopping on your bubbles without stopping, and designing the game to make the best use of that would be superb!

Quite challenging to pull off the jumps, but I enjoyed the time I spent in this world. I hope you keep working on this.
