Failed Experiment by Halleflux

[raw]
made by Halleflux for LD32 (COMPO)
EDIT: Uploaded a version that shouldn't crash on an error, and also uploaded standalones.
WARNING! There exists a bug, when you first blitz an enemy, they might not die. Just a heads up. I don't know what the problem is, but it seems to just be the first time, and it doesn't always happen. Sorry about that.

In this game, you play as a failed experiment, and escape through the facility, using stealth, speed, and murder as your tools.

...Or, at least, that's more or less how it played out in my head.

The game itself really didn't end up panning out the way I had hoped, and I only made the tutorial and one more more-than-less untested level.
I just didn't like the sub-genre that I fell into with it, especially after imagining something... different. I'm not quite sure right now (I've been up for 30 hours straight, that probably has something to do with it =\), but it isn't what I wanted.

However, as for a first attempt at complex-ish AI, it turned out rather well. The AI have some semblance of intelligence and general... alive-ness, even though there are a few bugs that, while they don't actually hold it back to any great extent, exist.

The gameplay is where it fell flat, really. If I wanted to create interesting levels with this, it would take a really long time for each one. (This is part of why I call it 'Failed Experiment'.)

So, lesson learned, I suppose.

I hope this is enjoyable anyways, though.

Oh! I also made a much better tutorial this time around. Improvement! =D

The gameplay seemed pretty fun and polished from what I could play, but I kept getting a dropbox error when I got halfway through the hallway that goes to the big room on the first level.

I blame Unity Web GL for that. I'll upload something soon that should fix that.
Thanks, though.

There is exception, when I click on guard. But camera and movement works excellently. It needs only more time, and it will be great game!

definitely some potential to this, great camera controls so I could always see what was going on. Moving the player with mouseclicks felt abit strange personally and made it abit hard to be as stealthy as I wanted, but it's a very interesting idea!

I get the same exceptions, but the game still runs. Cool click to move gameplay and camera rotation. Nice job for a compo entry.

The camera movement mechanics are really intriguing. I think if you return to this post-compo you might have a really unique stealth game on your hands!

Superb stealth game. I hope you will use the potential to finish the game, add some levels and 3D models. I would love to play more than two levels.

The controls work really nice. The game would be more challenging if the guards will actually attack the player when they spot him. Oftentimes I was able to just rush through.
