60 Second Opera Death by peterfsat

[raw]
made by peterfsat for LD32 (COMPO)
What's the most people you can kill with your voice?

The Unconventional Weapon is your voice. You're an evil opera singer with a plan: you want to kill your audience! You have the gift of terrible singing, so why not using that to wreak havoc?

Use the keys A, S, D, F and H, J, K, L to hit the scrolling notes at the right time!

ESC quits the game.

* Be sure to turn up your volume!

Disclaimer: I was originally planning to use the JKL; keys like a normal person :p, but the font didn't display the semicolon in an obvious way and instead opted for shifting the keys one letter to the left!

Wow, I didn't expect to be killing spectators with just my voice. I lived the audio coupled with the shaking head on stage. It was pretty funny.

So, personally, I really couldn't get anywhere in the game with those valid keys... so I hacked the source to give me "JKL;"... I'm assuming you had that originally since it was "JKLH" instead of "HJKL". Then I got 10, 11, and then 37 spectators dead, so that worked better for me personally. :)

I get why you changed it though. Still, maybe a choice would be nice. I just couldn't be fast/consistent enough with HJKL (even though I'm completely a vim user... don't ask me!).

Anyway, fun game, and a nice interpretation of the theme.

I think that music would probably kill me too if I had to listen to too much of it. ;)

That voice is annoying as hell, it was pretty fun though I sucked at it.

Hahahaha! Hilarious idea!! A bit difficult in the first and second try but that is what makes the game interesting

Music-based games are always charming, though I didn't expect to be slaughtering the masses with my operatic tone.

the timing must be perfect, tho there is nothing setting the time. The sound is annoying and the gameplay is not that funny. It may have been because of the style the game went for, but it didn't do it for me

It was just like the opera singer in The Fifth Element. Which is a positive.

Haha this was funny, loved it! The bad thing is that you can mash all keys and score 100% anyways... you should develop a penalty for missing a key.

The voice is so terrible that I'm affraid that there are already some LD participants killed by it somewhere in the world. :D

Really cool concept! I liked it, and it's nice to see another game with music. :D I've tried for few times, I was laughing, but I don't want to play it anymore, at least not with sound turned on. ^^

This game made me understand that i don't know how to write on a keyboard.

The game is kind of fun, but god the volume, is damn to high i understand that you want to play on with the theme of your game, but it almost hurt me :(

Fun stuff. Maybe it should be more obvious how the killing was connected to the singing.

Lol, 0 spectators killed. However I was impressed by my opera skills at first try. :D Nice idea!

It wasn't just the audience I was killing: my ears suffered too!
Haha, quite the amusing entry, enjoyed playing. I'd kind of prefer some different difficulties though, it's quite difficult with the 8 buttons to press. (or perhaps use words, since they're easier to type)
