WebGL was slow for me, but I am on a laptop, so it might not be an issue for others.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>As it stands, the game seems unfinished...oh, and I see in the description that that's exactly what it is.  I hope you decide to work on this game or others in the future, since it seems like a very cool concept. If you could do something like make the worlds randomly generate, that would be way cool. Some more objects to place would be nice as well.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Good job on your jam entry, and good luck!"},{"author_name":"Baknik","author_uid":"22088","time":"Aug 29, 2016 @ 3:08am","epoch":1472439780,"text":"@CMLSC Yeah this project was mainly for me to learn about some parts of Unity I haven't touched yet, and also to try out a new ECS framework I've been working on. The final product here isn't really a game, but I think it's such a cool idea I had to try it.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>I actually had this idea on my own before finding the existing project. Also, there's no such thing as a new idea anyway, so don't limit yourself to only ideas that you think no one has though of before."},{"author_name":"Linver","author_uid":"85977","time":"Aug 29, 2016 @ 3:10am","epoch":1472439900,"text":"Conception looks interesting, but there are so mush variants of future development. \r<br\/>\r<br\/>MindExplosions from your idea, and it's great:\r<br\/>Should we write a texts for NPC? Levels Sharing? Or arrange enemies? Really, task of placing balanced monsters and loot is not easy.\r<br\/>Old players can leave game after closing all quests, but new players leave in unbavanced places?"},{"author_name":"Baknik","author_uid":"22088","time":"Aug 29, 2016 @ 3:11am","epoch":1472439960,"text":"@NinjaNic Thanks! I'm not sure why my game is showing up on Feedback Friends as a Jam entry. I actually entered it into the compo. On a second look, everyone's game seems to be getting marked as Jam instead of Compo. While I wasn't even close to finishing my initial concept, I'm proud of what I did get done and I think it at least shows what I was going for.\r\n\r\nThe idea is to create a game in the tycoon genre, like Roller Coaster Tycoon, where you manage an MMO world. This includes designing and building the world, managing business costs, and responding to player feedback. I was inspired by a developer who is currently a few years into developing exactly this kind of game. You can check out his dev blog at http:\/\/www.vectorstorm.org\/2014\/01\/21\/mmorpg-tycoon-2-roadmap\/.\r\n\r\n- WASD or Arrow keys to pan camera, mouse wheel to zoom in and out.\r\n- Use the buttons on the left to add NPC quest givers and artifacts to the world.\r\n- Players will automatically accept quests from NPCs to seek out the ancient artifacts.\r\n\r\nI learned an incredible amount about what I can and can't easily do in Unity, and I'll take that knowledge to all my other projects.\r\n\r\nIf you're having performance issues with the WebGL build, the Windows version should be an improvement.\r\n\r\nThanks for playing!","title":"MMO Dev Tycoon"}
