Zoo Racing by refreshcreations
Barely finished this one with 4 minutes to sapre on the clock. ZooRacing is a fun little animal racing game set inside a zoo, win the race to get a better ending.
There are a few known bugs in there. mostly that the penguin is the only playable character and one of the scene transitions goes haywire for a moment. But, aside from those niggles, I'm pretty happy with what I managed to complete this time around, and actual racing battler, with AI. In 48 hours. How in the hell did that happen?
I went a bit ott with the styling of the level and other areas but really enjoyed working on the game this way. Admittedly to my cost at the end of the day, but I hope you, dear player, will find the game is still somewhat playable.

feel like you could of balanced your time a little differently between the art and the gameplay as all the weapon systems are in but the only time I ever interacted with one was because I ran into it on purpose,
would of liked to see a bit of rubber banding as they all shot of and left me alone at the beginning but considering the time the AI was good enough
I really like the look and feel of it, well done!
Yeah, I ran out of time to fully finish the game off, so there's a few loose ends that I'll tie up for a post Ludum Dare game.
The hedgehog character is a morphed version of the penguin character which really saved me hours of time but, yeah, I went more ott with the scenery here, I figured it would be nice for there to be something away from the racetrack at any point in the lap to draw players eyes about the screen.
I had fun with my first time playing with height maps generated from textures, which helped to make it a little less flat in appearance. I'll be looking into adding extra features over the coming weekends and months to see if I can turn this into something pretty cool!
I loved the idea of the Lego piece that hurts the animals.
I was sad when I picked the hedgehog I played with a penguin.
Anyway, despite that, good job, this game will haunt my nightmare from now.
It reminds me of Wacky Wheels. The sound effects are very good. Too bad my competitors would outrun me very quickly and I didn't see them again.
Maybe if the penalty of going of the track would be less harsh?
I've been planning more weapons and characters to boot, although, post the mania that is Ludum dare, development is now at a much more sedate pace :)
