Re-Booted by Sluce

[raw]
made by Sluce for LD32 (JAM)
Well this is my first LD game or even a game jam game. Therefore, there is a lot of stuff that really needs fixed etc.. but unfortunately I am out of time to work on it.

In this game you play a EDR(electrical distribution robot) after humans have all been killed off. Somehow, you have re-booted up and now you must survive. You can use your electrical powers to interact with items and to explode the bigger robots.

A list of intractable objects is as follows: the black boxes (which do special things but be careful not to hold f for to long or they explode) and the vacuum.
I wish I had more time to add more.

The bigger robots spawn smaller ones that can only be killed by exploding the huge ones or by using items.

I have to say I am super please with what I have accomplished, though it may not be much, and I learned a lot!

Fixed Bugs:
-Movement speed issue should now be fixed such that framerate does not impact the speed at which you move.
-Also I adjusted the camera to be out a bit more I think it helps.

Interesting idea. The ending was strangely satisfying. I would have liked a different camera angle so I could see better. I also would have like a way to blow up the alarm. It got annoying fast.

I updated the description to give a list of intractable objects because you can turn the alarm off. Hopefully it is more clear now.

The camera makes this a lot more difficult than it needs to be but I like the idea. Excellent work for a first entry too. Well done.

woah. this is hopefully a glitch but my robot moved at 1000 miles an hour and basically just pinged off the map. is you movement linked to frame rate by chance? (higher frame rate meant faster movement).

Thanks gaugepunk. I can't believe I hadn't noticed it. So the update loop is called each frame and it does affect the movement. I ran it 640X480 and it was sickening how fast everything moved. For best results run on at a higher resolution and better graphics quality. I'll need to figure out how to fix this.

@Marccspro: yes it is... I guess when I was testing it I got tone deaf but now that I ran it, it is just blaring :S

Thanks again everyone for your feedback!

I figured it was necessary to open the door. But I did not know. I liked the design of enemies and small insects. Good job.
