~~ The Tale of Captain BearBeard ~~
Captain Bearbeard is a peaceful pirate bear in an eternal quest for honey.
Today he boards a pirate ship again. As always, the pirates are afraid of him and are willing to fight to death.
And as always, he bounces on his belly to stun them until he gets the honey pot he craves for.

Tools.
This game is plain ActionScript 3 with no boilerplate or external library.
We learned it on the fly, by the way.
We used FlashDevelop, the latest Flex SDK, Photoshop CS6 and GIMP.
-- BUGS, ETC --
-> On Firefox, it was impossible to win the game. Now it seems to work again. Weird magic going on.
-> The small guys in dark red were supposed to be cookers throwing knifes at you. Their code is ready but since it doesn't work for some reason I just left them behind.
-> We tried to make our own music with LMMS, but we got unexpected problems we should have fixed way before. Too bad, but we won't miss it next time !
-> Some hitboxes are a bit messed up, but for the sake of honesty I won't fix them.
We did our best and hope you have some fun playing ! We'd love to hear your feedback.

Short, sweet and fun!

The game is quite beautiful too (I like the cartoony style), and very very fun to play (but challenging)
One suggestion: maybe it would make the game easier to play if when pressing "down" the bear would stop bouncing immediately - I was hit a lot of time because I wasn't jumping high enough, and pressing "down", waiting for the bear to reach the ground, then "up" again was too much to do before getting hit by the enemies (or maybe you should slow down the enemies a bit?)
Anyway, great work, I enjoyed your entry a lot! :)
I really like when Ludum Dare games have the end.
The captain Bearbeard is adorable.
