I don't know if it's pedagogical or not, but I have to give you a hard time about presentation and the severe lack of instructions. "Click the sound makers on the left to defend yourself." does not say anything. I thought I first thought I had to click the circle closest to where the incoming square was going to hit. Then I noticed the sound indicator coming from the circle, I thought I had to click on the correct circle when the animation was going on. No, in fact what you have to do in this game is match the higher pitched response to the lower pitched notes that are played. You do this by toggling the circles on the left, which are played in a loop from top to bottom. The dash in the vertical line indicates which circle is going to be played next. That should have been written somewhere..."},{"author_name":"yackeroeni","author_uid":"50441","time":"Apr 24, 2015 @ 4:04pm","epoch":1429891140,"text":"Thanks for the feedback. But when I got it, it was really a nice concept. However, I didn't find later levels any more difficult than than the first one. With some modifications, this could be a really nice game. :) Well done."},{"author_name":"hunttis","author_uid":"41000","time":"Apr 25, 2015 @ 7:51pm","epoch":1429991160,"text":"Interesting idea. I understood that the thing that's traveling is what triggers each circle. I couldn't quite understand why an enemy dies whenever an enemy died because of my selections :D \r<br\/>\r<br\/>I do think, though, that with a tutorial this could really be something! :)"},{"author_name":"Marcos Rodrigues","author_uid":"16988","time":"Apr 25, 2015 @ 7:53pm","epoch":1429991280,"text":"At first I didn't quite understand the mechanics, but as soon as I got it, it became really addicting! I was a little sad when I beat the last level, I wish there were more! :)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>If you want to make the game more challenging, there could be a "survival" mode in which the player must face randomly selected sequences of notes and act fast, and see how much time he\/she can survive! But I really suggest some faster way to assign notes to the markers on the left, maybe using the arrows to select which marker, and the keys 1 to 4 to select which note to play.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>The graphics aren't impressive, but it really doesn't matter much in this kind of game. You could keep with this project in a educational context, it seems perfect to train the musical ear!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Good job!"},{"author_name":"Nikteddy92","author_uid":"12659","time":"Apr 25, 2015 @ 7:58pm","epoch":1429991580,"text":"The game idea is nice, but a little hard to get into the mechanics at the beginning. A tutorial or a bit of explanation could have been great and the player would take less time figuring them out, if he didn't quit in between. The sounds are very nice. Also the little bar going down which I guess indicates the order in which the circles are picked, should be a bit more exposed for the player to notice it. I don't really feel a growing difficulty as I complete the levels and this could have make the experience a whole bunch better, for example adding more circles and more colours, it is one of the multiple ways to do that.\r<br\/>Great game nonetheless and it has some potential."}],"images":["ld32\/50441-d35f5afbe2347201662888e07c9f011b.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"http:\/\/www.kongregate.com\/games\/yackeroeni\/soundefender","text":"Web"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"11202","g_author":"50441","g_event":"LD32","g_eventkey":"27","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"11232","g_title":"Soundefender","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"632","g_commentcount":"10","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/444368\/50441-shot0-1429450813.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Defend yourself with sound.\r\n\r\nClick the sound makers on the left to defend yourself.\r\n\r\nYou have to match the higher pitched response to the lower pitched notes that are played.
