Get Rich! by TurboCorp

[raw]
made by TurboCorp for LD32 (JAM)
In the near future... MONEY can't buy happiness, but it can buy you weapons to kill your friends.

Use those weapons to shoot more MONEY at your friends to get their MONEY. If you run out of MONEY (you beggar) don't worry, it will rain from the sky. Yep, effects of the global warming and stuff.

You can dash your way out of that golden ingot, but you'll drop some MONEY from your pockets.

If you don't have friends, don't worry! You'll have MONEY to buy them after a few plays. In the meantime you'd like to defeat some remote control rich-o-bots and steal their MONEYs.

Push the buttons! Kill the people! Get the MONEYs!

Get Rich!

------------------

Player 1

WASD to move
F to shoot
G to dash

Player 2

ARROWS to move
0 to shoot
. to dash

Better enjoyed with controllers and 4 players.

For me I think it had a problem, because the low part of the screen was black.
Graphics are very nice, gameplay very good and engaging too.

Great game! I'll have to wait until the store opens to buy some friends, right now I'm playing with bots :P

The gameplay is fun, the art is pretty awesome and the music is very enjoyable. I didn't find any bugs on my playthrough.

Great work!

P.D.: Give us cheaper power-ups :P

LOVE the intro so much. LOVE IT. Fun concept!

Really fun, but couldn't figure out how to get the 2nd player on the keyboard to work.

This is probably the most polished LD32 game I've played so far. The intro was great; I just sat and watched it for a bit. The graphics were very nice, and I liked little details like how some objects would shake if you hit them, and you could pick up spent ammo.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!
@petey, Use the period key on the keypad to add a 2nd player

A surprisingly polished game, guys! The intro is honestly the best part of the game, and you can tell you put a lot of love into it.

I did much enjoy smashing the plebes with my spare change. The dryer fund, if you will. This game seems accurate to my day to day life, kudos old chum.

This is a really great concept! Could be a truly kickass couch multiplayer game if developed a bit further.

I love that the player's ammo is also the player's purchasing resource. Maybe something like reasonably priced health kits would make the game feel more strategic/objective-oriented rather than in-your-face brawly (like it feels now).

I felt like the purchasable upgrades didn't really come into play much unless you were already down to only 2 players, at which point they don't really help to turn the tide of battle much. But really, that's just a balance/pacing issue. The core concept is really great here.

Also, the art looked fantastic and the audio was good as well.

Fun theme, and good use of the multiple player thing. I did notice a graphical glitch where the water particles of the fountain were visible on the bottom black part of the screen.

A really awesome game, would love to play this on a sofa with a few friends - not the most unconventional weapons though
