The Pamphleteers by Move127

[raw]
made by Move127 for LD32 (COMPO)
You are working to overthrow an oppressive government using the only weapon at your disposal. Send your supporters out to hand out pamphlets made at your headquarters. The more pamphlets you hand out the more people will join your cause. Eventually you will have enough support to take down the government. But be careful. The more you are caught handing out pamphlets the more the government will try to shut you down.

This game is all about balancing a few variables like money, production of pamphlets, and your notoriety. At the same time you will have to pay close attention to the movements of the police around the map.

The game is controlled with just the mouse, but the mechanics are somewhat complex and really require a good tutorial. Unfortunately I was rushed and just put a wall of text before the game starts.

Known Issues:
The images are messed up in the Web version. I don't have time to look into it, but if you want to see the game as it normally is play the Windows version or (possibly) the mac version.

Occasionally crashes/freezes, no idea why.

Soooo many instructions! I made sure to read them all but once I got to the game I got pretty lost. Seems like a neat idea but yeah...pretty dense.

It's a little much to figure out, but once you get the basic idea it's pretty fun.

It locked up twice on me, but I really enjoyed the way you met the theme with this game.

It's slow at first, but once I had a few pamphleteers to manage, it got a bit more intense. Maybe start with more than one?

The instructions at the start were kind of intimidating.

The music was good. The game is not very telling. Reminds me of the old days when if you bought something like this you darn well figured it out!

I didn't quite figure it out. ++Great Effort though.

Your game has a unique idea, but there is a learning curve. I've played it a few times to get the idea, but I have to play it longer to understand it more.

Nice graphics and sound, lots of instructions but the game play was pretty straight forward. Cool take on the theme, only issue I had was that it crashed on my mac. I enjoyed it, nice job.

I wish there were less police at the start, or they were more forgiving initially. I find it very difficult to get started. I like the political theme, and the depth.

Loads of instructions right at the start, I would have maybe tried to teach the player the game as they played

I found the game really hard and at the start there is very little to do.

However after a long time playing it and understanding how the mechanics work I find it very fun to play.

Very well done! Good execution of theme, I like it. Manual if very long though.
