Mystery at the Mansion by Baknik

[raw]
made by Baknik for LD32 (COMPO)
You are a detective. Find clues around the mansion to discover who the murderer is and what unconventional weapon they used to perform the act! There are four different mysteries that will be randomly selected from upon starting/restarting the case. Find all the clues and piece together the logic to win!

Here's what I enjoyed about making this game.
- It's been a while since I've done pixel art, so it's been fun to jump into it again and get a bit of practice.
- There is some procedural generation that I managed to fit into the time limit.

This game is one of the most complex games I've created for Ludum Dare so far. As a result, there are a few things that could have been done better or were missing.
- Sound/Music is missing
- I would have liked to have way more interactable and non-interactable objects in all the rooms.
- A walking animated character would have been great
- The interface could be way better

Let me know what you think. BTW, if you're having trouble with interface elements overlapping, try re-sizing the window.

Thanks for playing!

Nice game! The clues kind of hide the choice screen. But the random clues are fun and it has nice replayability.

I liked going around the house and collecting clues. Figuring out the case was a nice logic puzzle. The reply value with the clues was cool, but already knowing where they were made it less exciting.
nice job!

A nicely done simple mystery game.
I like how the game generate clue, culprit, and weapon.
Has indirect connection with theme but it's ok.

Keep it up :)

Very cool, but loosely related to the theme. Collecting the clues was easy, maybe make it a bit tougher to find them or make the house a bit bigger.

This was a nice game. It was a little bit too quick but other than that and missing sound it was good.

Nice spritework, and the range of solutions was a nice touch too!

A very well executed game, even though there aren't much variation on murder mystery itself, it is quite fun to play and the guessing at the end was good, I have to think very carefully about which one to choose. Also the arrow keys don't work for the guessing screen for some reason.

Cool game! Looks like you could have really used a bit more time to add in sound. Very fun
