Satellites vs Aliens by Tom Rijnbeek

[raw]
made by Tom Rijnbeek for LD32 (COMPO)
Earth is being invaded by hostile aliens. With nothing at hand to fend them off, the council of mantis men has decided to use the satellites in orbit to destroy them. To nudge the satellites into orbit, boosters are duct-taped to skyscrapers and launched into space. How many aliens can you fend off before Earth meets its inevitable doom?

This game uses mouse controls. Drag from a satellite into the direction in which it should be pushed. After letting go of the mouse, a skyscraper will automatically by launched to push the satellite.

It was really hard to hit stuff, but the graphics were really nice.

Too bad the world’s end is inevitable! I keep running out of satellites, unfortunately.

Overall this is well executed, the graphics are simple yet cute and consistent. Nice that there is sound, too.

What a novel concept. Very interesting/difficult control scheme. I do wish the satellites would stick around a bit longer before fading out though. Still, pretty fun to play. Good entry.

Windows build doesnt work on my 32 bit pc! But for some reason i decided to download source and play it with unity. Havent done it on any other game before ;). Idea is neat. Pixel art is cool enough for the simplicty of game. Duct-tape thing got you some humor points B). And music is cool too. Only thing i wanna say is conrols would be better if you can send missiles by clicking again after aiming. And right click would cancel sending that one. Keep up good work!

Really tough, but I dig the design. If we're launching skyscrapers into space to push satellites towards aliens, why not just launch the skyscrapers at the aliens. O.o

Nice game. I don't get the trajectories for different planets. It seems that physics is not the same for all planets, but maybe it's the spin so maybe I'm wrong.

All in all, very nice entry. Well done!
