Chessboard Death Race; the online multiplayer death arena! Witness the complete carnage of a free-for-all machine-gun-fueled demolition derby!

This is the first attempt I've ever had at online multiplayer, I understand it might be difficult to find people to play with, however you can tweet at me @killthealias and I'll hop on as soon as possible.

First of all, really nice graphics and tune.

Just a comment, maybe you should not have used a straight box collider for the car, as it tend to grip with the walls.

I will try to play it with someone later.

./Chessboard Death Race.x86: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I don't understand how to run this (on Linux).

wow, so jealous of your player base, haha. great work with online multi-player, you need a remote procedure call to get the opponents guns to show they are firing.

Good music and SFX. Needed to see or feel bullets to really make it playable, also a little timer between respawns would go a long way to making it feel more like a deathmatch. Pretty bold to make a networked game for LD, but it actually worked out well, no lag, and I found people to play with.

Good job, nice graphics and I was able to drop in and drive around and shoot someone so that was cool. A couple things I'd do differently:

Switch the powerups to a trigger instead of a collision check, that way you wont stop for a sec when you bump them, that was annoying. I'd also maybe implement a line renderer on the bullets so you can see where you're shooting at and being shot from. Generally good work though!

Cool game. I like the online feature. Unfortunately lacks some user feedback stuff, but still quite fun. car grips to the wall too.

This is fun and there is actually a pretty steady stream of noobs that I was owning. It would be nice to see some feedback when I hit things. Also white cars on a white background was hard to see. Just saying. I think I killed about 5 guys before I handed down the gauntlet. Fun times!

Great job getting a multiplayer game done under such constraints! Any plans to continue developing it?

Reminds me of Twisted Metal :D You could use something like a sensor to get the health hit instead of colliding (it decrease your speed). Keep the work on it! :)
