The Unconventional Ninja Cat by Ershany

[raw]
made by Ershany for LD32 (JAM)
Travel your way through an evil facility of robots! Kill them and escape it is as simple as that!
You can smash projectiles with your sword, and use your deadly shuriken and wall climbing abilities to be victorious!

Controls:
Move: WASD
Climb Walls: Run at a wall and tap W
Switch Weapon: Mouse Wheel Rotation (indicated by the cursor icon)
Attack: Left click

Known bug:
Jumping at the corner of a wall can possibly get you stuck. Sorry for the inconvenience of not adding a suicide button, I ran out of time. I also did not end a you win screen at the end of level 3, as I ran out of time:(

Extra Info:
Did not have time to finish wall jumping as I only had about 14 hours to make this game :) But this was my first jam and I learned a lot like making the scope of your game small because otherwise you will not finish. Excited to participate in the next Ludum Dare :D

Good job for your first jam! The music was a good pick but after a while it stops playing.

The projectiles were quite difficult to see. One thing that might have helped is if the background was darker so the foreground would pop out more.

On my first try I got stuck in a corner and had to restart. Due to the weird jump arcs, the acid pits turned out to be much more deadly than the enemies. But considering how little time you had to make this, it's pretty decent.

Music adds great action feeling to it :D Controls are somewhat clumsy and it looks more like unconventional warrior, not weapon :D Overall it just lacks some polish I think. Fun game though :)

Pretty good for first jam, but those collisions were totally horrible.

Pretty good for your first jam. A few bugs, needs some polish, but you got something done that you can show off!

DarkGrisen it is a .jar file, as long as you have java installed it should run:)

Thanks guys for the feedback and love :) Wish I could have had another 10 hours to make the game feel better! Next Ludum Dare will be more polished!

Good job dude!

I think there's a lot of work to be done on the general feel and flow of the movement. Jumping is difficult to guage a lot of the time because of how the velocity is very digital and goes straight from like "exactly this fast up" to "exactly this fast down" if that makes sense?

I liked the changing cursor for different weapons, made things feel very clear. I feel like I wouldn't really opt to use the really short range melee attack over the projectile since you have an infinite supply of them and they do reasonable damage. I would opt to probably just focus on the projectile weapon if you took things further as it's generally a little more fun.

Again, good work!

Yeah I did not have the time to make the movement and such feel good :( I wish I had another 10 hours, I could have made the physics and collision feel much better!

A rather nice first Jam inclusion if I can say so. Nice music, cool designs, I admit honestly I was let down when I saw the winning screen, I wanted to play it more. :)

Good job! Nice character designs :-)

I had to restart a few times, after getting stuck on the walls. The color of the background might have been a bit darker, so that enemies and weapons stood out better.
