Pow-Pow Pop-Pop by ctufaro

Hi!

Unconventional Weapon: Tennis Ball Propelled Walker

Game Store: Silly 2D side-scroller where you play as Pop-Pop, whose home is being invaded by thugs. Pop-Pop, although not explained in the game is a master engineer, and created a walker that shoots tennis balls from the legs. This unconventional weapon is perfect for fending off thugs.

My first LD Jam and I'm satisfied just to have completed within 48 hours. I'm submitting in the art category because Pop-Pop and the thugs were hand-drawn, and than scanned and vectorized with Illustrator and Photoshop.

I'd love the feedback, even if it's bad (I'm a big boy)

NOTE: I'm using the Unity Webplayer and unfortunately it's not supported in Chrome. Please test in other browsers.

Thanks!

If you press attack multiple times really quickly Pop-pop never shoots at all. Other than that its pretty good :D

You have a very good core for a game... as it stands it's pretty repetitive and there is no "real" challenge. Perhaps add enemy variety, or limitations on the tennis ball usage, or make the tennis balls behave in a strange way, etc. I loved the artwork, especially the hand-drawn characters :). Music was very appropriate as well, so good selection there.

Good luck!

Controls were a bit wonky, but other that that game was quite fun to play

There wasn't any challenge or complexity the the mechanics. I liked the art and music.

I enjoyed the concept for this game! Using a tennis ball shooting grandpa as a weapon is hilarious. I was a little confused as to why my enemies were bros, but I guess pop-pop has no tolerance for the youth of today. Fun game, though the shooting control tended to stick a bit, I guess. Sometimes his walker would go up and nothing would be shot out.
