Gradience by Grieve

[raw]
made by Grieve for LD32 (JAM)
Gradience - where color is your weapon.

Use your lenses to modulate your weapon and defeat the random neon shapes of the generic bad guy who is over to the right somewhere.

Runs best on chrome and is riddled with bugs, so if it freezes (or you can't see your colour gauges, refresh).

WASD to move, JKL to control lenses and space to fire.

Got through the tutorial all right but then it kept freezing after that. Oh well. It was a nifty little thing to play around with. Who doesn't like a little shmup action now and then?

Wonder idea and game. I loved the different modes and the main menu. Thought this game was all around epic except for the game was laggy. Other than that wonderful!

Beautiful! Sound, Gfx +1
But same here, after completing a stage the next one wouldn't load.
Good tutorial too!

Great take on the theme and juicy shmup as we love them. Good job!

Great idea, a nice extension to Ikaruga I guess. The game crashed for me at the end of each level so I couldn't really progress.

Love the graphics and music! That distortion gives a real retro vibe that is hard to beat! Had a few freezing issues but the concept is great and was fun when it worked :)

I love the look and feel though its a shame that its a moderately well explored concept - good job though!

Game seems to freeze a lot on both Firefox and Chrome (at places like dying in endless, finishing the tutorial and completing the 1st level of normal) but the concept itself is pretty cool.

Very funny and innovative. But it crashes whenever I die.

Cool game and neat concept, but it was a bit simple and the game froze at the end of the tutorial. I guess a bit more depth would have been good.

Nice looking game and I really liked the idea of mixing colours. Too bad the game kept freezing on death (hit a group of enemies and the game froze, maybe life points went to negative?) and sometimes after stages.

The game froze at the end of every stage and stutter like crazy on my pc.

The concept is very interesting and i liked it [even if i couldn't play it much], also the graphics is pretty cool.

The colors deplete very fast and the endless mode seems broken [dozen and dozen of enemy on screen]

Nice looking game, liked the design and how you softened the hard edges of colour. The game mechanic was also a nice twist on the typical space shooter.

Awesome graphics, loved the mood and music. Although the "normal game" did freeze up after the first wave, the tutorial was great!
