Economy Legal War by el_kloklo

[raw]
made by el_kloklo for LD32 (COMPO)
A game about taking over a concurrent.

In short :

Factories build stuff, and transform stuff into other stuff. You need to set them before they start to produce. Have a look to the product tree to understand better.

Warehouse stock stuff, in the compo version one is enough.

The shop sell stuff to citizen, and need to be affected as well.

Click on a building to have more detail on unit.

Strike can take over your building if you don't pay your worker well enough.

This has almost nothing to do with the theme, as I run out of time before making more funny action like buy factory, or decrease reputation. Anyway I'm happy with what it's turned out, considering that I've wasted a lot of time learning the new unity UI, which I'd better to have done before...

I choose to not use the web player this time, because some people told it don't work on Linux, so I choosed a downloadable version (and sorry for the mac guy, I didn't check if .zip work on mac :/)

According to the reglementation of ludum dare, it is possible to "port" the game for more people, so I've made a bigger window for building information, that's the only thing.

Tips : try to build something cheaper like fruit juice or fruit can (4 factories in all) before starting a full car production. Have a look to the product panel to understand how things are transformed into factories.

Too many menus to click through to get things going. UI needs work in order to seamlessly show the system that you're building. Also the "tossing" of factories and warehouses out makes for a good laugh, but then I can't really remember what building is what. Would like to be able to lay them out myself. It looked nice but lacked any kind of gameplay flow.

Hi, impressed by the system running behind that, but probably a little too big for a jam ;). The UI gets confusing in small boxes, but I still liked the idea! Congrats on the work.

Interesting one. It's hard to understand how to start, but after few bankrupts, I understood the concepts and it's pretty fun.

I have no idea what I just went through, but, boy oh boy, did I just laugh watching those buildings fly. Nice construction technique.

UI is too small and I don't really know what each building those from the descriptions. Also, the numbers seem random.

Otherwise, it was a nice laugh.

And I get what you say about Unity's new UI, took me a while to get it.

The system is too in-depth imo. That's ok, but when you put all the details into a small box, it become impossible to understand

You should have done a web player build in addition to the other builds; they're not mutually exclusive. Got a good laugh out of building the factories; liked that you could incite a riot at your opponent.

Overall nice work !
I didn't get the concept of the game. I guess the "unconventional weapon" is about making factory striking, or something .. It's not explained very well, but you seem to had a lot of work on this game ! The animation while you build things is just awesome xD. Graphics are nice ! No sound or music, sad :\. Maybe try to create a tutorial to explain the players what he has to do.

Throwing factories in the air is so much fun ! I really liked the graphics, unfortunately the game crashes after a few minutes so I couldn't witness all it's potential.

Couldn't really figure out what to do in game, though I did have some fun tossing some building when I expected to place them normally. Also no way to leave the game other then quitting, was playing full screen so had to alt tab to get out.

Quite a nice idea to throw bouildings randomly, but I would like to be able to move them afterwards, because some of them ended up on side. I know that itis irrelevent to the game mechanics, which seems good but pretty hard to understand.

Really like the systems in place. A logistics sim could be a whole lot of fun. Probably a bit ambitious for the Jam but the seed of a great idea is there. Also shame about the theme.

I liked the idea. Hard to understand the rules but nice the way to build! Good work! Good idea the relation between different products.
